RSL has played 13 games, DC has played 12
but Houston and TFChave played 8, and a dfew others 9

why so much discrpenacy?

I hate it honestly, and the MLS really makes no sense.

I understand for the dynamo it was on purpose to allow the stadium to be finished and have as many home games as possible this year there.. i.e. lots of road games and byes early in the season.

But would it really be that hard to just have all the games on weekends and just have a byes starting in week 6 or so with 2-4 teams off each week? I don't know.

Maybe has something to do with how pitiful the tv ratings have been and they're willing to go to any length to get their games televised, regardless of messing with the schedule?

The truth is the tables don't really matter in MLS all that much, especially this early in the season. Any team that is not terrible will make the playoffs and then its a tournament to decide the champion. Who cares if 2 months into the season the teams have played different numbers of games?

I also believe that part of it is loading up some teams early because they are in the Champions League later in the season.

They make the front end of the schedule heavier for teams that will play in CONCACAF later this season...or that's what they tell me.

Houston has played so few because they started the season with a giant road trip and two lengthy breaks.

EDIT: Brave beat me to the Houston point.

my OCD-ness

also the OP considering he made the thread.

The only legitimate reason I have for opposing it is things like the sounders played a game on 5/2 5/5 5/9 and 5/12, (I'm not a sounders fan, geaux rapids).. which just seems like a recipe for tired bad football, and potential "unfairness" for the team they play on 5/9 who sat at home all week and rested. or the team they played on 5/12 came off a bye, etc.

(I don't know if thats how it actually worked out or not, just giving examples.)

And we went 3-1 during that stretch.

The runs can be tough on the legs, but the momentum they can generate is fantastic.

You expect that to happen every time? and don't you think there would be a better chance of a good team getting more points with an even distribution of rest?

No, not at all. Like it was stated earlier, it's great for momentum, but torture on the legs. It's just amazing that we did that well.

It actually was five games in fifteen days for SSFC (4-1).

Which to me shows the pure quality of the sounders, most teams would have left those 5 games with maybe 5-7 points instead of 12.

One goal away from it at least being 13 points. That last game always seems to get ya. If we can get back to 100% health, we could potentially leapfrog San Jose and RSL.

I wish the damn rapids could get back to full strength.. I don't know if we've had the same starting 11 for more than maybe 2 games this season.

On a side note, we're playing Swansea in a friendly in July

Especially when you got to play one of the top teams in the league, like RSL. Too bad the fifth game couldn't have been against some horrible last-place club, like the Timbers.
