And GC instead of JJ would change this?
It COULD
that's the entire point of what I am saying but you all are too stubborn to actually read and comprehend words.

Well since we are going by "definition" there are 207 FIFA teams, so yes, in fact I do think they are above average since that would by definition put them at least 103. Saying there are 103 better midfield pairings is stupid as frick and you know that.
Don't be randy.
we're talking about squads who actually compete for anything meaningful. Bradley/Jones is barely average in a world cup sampling of teams.

As long as Jones plays a little more conservatively, I'm totally ok with that pairing. I just really liked what I saw from GC in the Panama game. I would like to see that again.

Since Randy is a contrarian and you seem to be disagreeing with everyone I would say you are being a Randy. But back to the discussion at hand, how many CONCACAF midfield pairings are better? 0? Maybe 1?
Saying that you prefer GC/Bradley is whatever, I don't think anyone cares about that- you just can't call Jones/Bradley barely average and not hear something about it.

Considering the Average of a the top 32 teams is number 16... you consider Bradley/Jones to be at least the 15th best midfield pairing in the world?

My definition of a randy is pulling some random stat or argument out of thin air that somehow contradicts what someone says but in reality has no relevance.
i.e. him talking about every country in the world average being 64 etc. etc. obviously not talking about that.

Well you've changed your qualifications of average 3 or 4 times now, so apologies for not keeping up.

Also the reason I'm being a contrarian is that people can't seem to realize that I'm merely saying I believe that the potential of Cameron/Bradley can exceed the current plateau of Bradley/Jones.
Somehow people are reading this as "Jones is awful and sucks and can go die and Cameron is a god among soccer players"

Cite them for me then, where have I once said conflicting things?

combo of Bradley and jones is above average on the international stage
There is an international tournament/qualification on every continent besides Iceland and Australia bc Australia is a country/continent, so I have no idea what you're talking about here.
quote:
we're talking about squads who actually compete for anything meaningful.
Again, what are you even talking about here. All the teams 'compete' for meaningful trophies.
quote:
Bradley/Jones is barely average in a world cup sampling of teams.
That would even contradict the last statement if you consider the WC the only meaningful trophy, because only like 5 teams are really competing for the WC every 4 years.
quote:
Considering the Average of a the top 32 teams
Now we are just going with the top 32, they don't even have to make the WC or compete for a meaningful trophy.
Anyway, I'm done here. I don't even know why I cited all of those for you. It's not a big deal, I like Geoff and would be thrilled if he was better than Jones bc that would mean the team would improve. I just don't know why you are so sold on a Stoke City platoon man over a guy who plays CDM for a CL club in a top 4 league.
Posted on 8/14/13 at 8:52 pm to Tweezy
Every single one of those statements can easily be taken as the teams in the world cup unless you just feel like being difficult.
I'm trying really hard not to be an a-hole here since i'm repeating myself, but i'm JUST saying that I would like to see more of them because based on the time we did in fact see this (first time together already great chemistry) the new pairing has the POTENTIAL to END UP greater than the current pairing.
that's it.
seriously, that's all I'm saying.

I wish mix was a little older and in a real league because I think there is great potential for him to work with bradley.

Not impressed with Jones and never have been. His passes are off the mark and he often loses the ball in the midfield. He has some games where he does well on 50/50 balls and defending but other than that I just don't feel he really helps our team. Not sure Cameron is the answer but I'd like to see Cameron more or just a different look with maybe Bradley and Dempsey or Bradley and Donovan with Bradley playing Jones's position and coming forward where he can. If our left and right backs can come forward no reason he couldn't

No, you're not, but your drastically underestimating the importance of what Bradley does now. He doesn't need to live in the offensive third, just pick his spots.
