bold are not even worth debating, GAM is very likely going to miss the cut. Pearce sadly makes it I believe.

The best backline option at this point has to be:

BocaJuniors Gooch DeMerit Dolo/Spector

If Gooch continues to be rusty, I would slide over Bocanegra to the center and put Spector on the left.

I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying we can forget Pearce and Bornstein being cut. Its just not going to happen. I'd be shocked if it did. It just comes down to positional depth. They may suck, and oh do they suck, but they suck at LB and we don't have enough people that suck at LB to cut them.

pearce was AWFUL on the third goal. i really liked the energy rodgers came in with. kljestan and bedoya couldn't seem to keep up with the pace of the game even though it was a friendly

my thoughts exactly!!!

Which is why Pearce makes the cut I believe. Bob wants 2 LB's on the roster if Boca has to move into center.

Spector can play every position on defense, so he should be the backup leftback. We know Bob has to stay loyal to his Chivas roots and take Johnny Failstein.

This.

I would rather take the best 23 and hope for some good luck than take the 23 that give you the most depth (even if it's confirmed shitty depth). Bob disagrees with me.
But seriously, does Bob think we can win in the knockout stages with Pearce or Bornstein taking part?

I agree with almost all of them, but would be upset if the Buddle pain train didn't roll through south africa.

I could see Bedoya being left off in favor of the Buddle pain train. It's a shame because I like what both of them bring.

10 midfielders (including Dempsey) seems excessive to me.

One of Bedoya/Torres isn't going.

Wahl thinks with Pearce's faults at LB, Bob would rather try Beasley there again (lose-lose situation) and Edu at CB in case of emergency.

ETA: That would potentially free up the spot for Bedoya or Buddle.
