Highschool, summer vacation, in my mom's living room.
I was at my grandparent's house for the Mexico game.
Won't be forgetting either of those games any time soon.

In Spain. There was a general disdain for American soccer, and a major horse laugh for Portugal's "inexcusable slip-up".

Hugely pregnant and 3 weeks away from giving birth.

I remember this, but not where I was. I only recall watching the 6am match against Germany specifically.

this was on around 4 in the morning, no? I recall eating oatmeal pies feeling groggy as frick, and then suddenly energized by our astonishing victory (and danerous amounts of sugar)

I was still in a daze when the first goal was scored, and was in and out for a few minutes after.
Second goal, I was AWAKE.

The Portugal game was the first soccer game I watched start to finish. And I watched from the kickoff to the final whistle. The only other game I remember watching significantly was the '98 World Cup Final. I was too young for the '94 World Cup.

Well thanks, there goes my afternoon.
I didn't really follow soccer at this time, since I had just started playing the sport and never watched it on TV. I remember hearing about Donovan playing well at the WC in general and that we made it pretty far, but I didn't realize it was the quarters until I started obsessively learning about the US national team 7-8 years later.

This. I graduated from high school a few weeks before, so I spent the whole World Cup staying up all night with my friends and sleeping all day because I had nothing else to do. That was probably the only time in my life when watching soccer games at 3AM wouldn't have ruined whatever else I was doing.

I distinctly remember setting my alarm for 3 AM just to watch this game. Crashed about two hours after the win. My nine-year old self could barely handle the excitement.
