1 - LSU 2003 football title
2- LSU 2006 final four run
3- LSU 2007 football title
4- Leeds champions league run in 2001
5- LSU sec football title 2001

saints superbowl is up there for me too but i've always enjoyed cfb more than the nfl. figured those of you who support some of the more traditional 'big' clubs may have more soccer memories to consider.

eta- another honorable mention moment - pimp slapping the likes of portugal and mexico at the 2002 world cup.

really? Exciting stuff I bet.

all I remember from that time was one or two up and coming players, and their UEFA appearance, and then boom! All of sudden it was Liverpool. I think the big Leeds player went to Manure and didn't pan out, amirite? Alan Smith was his name maybe?

ETA Was Ireland's Duff the other player?

all the way to the semis before getting reamed by valencia.

that was a pretty talented leeds squad. rio ferdinand, paul robinson, ian harte, olivier dacourt, harry kewell, lee bowyer, jon woodgate, smitty, mark viduka, robbie keane.

smith has fallen off the map since his leg split in half and he went from striker to centre mid to striker to centre mid again. still a guy who will give it his all when he is on the pitch.

I can't compare anything to LSU athletics or the Saints because they make up probably my top 10-15 sports moments, but.... Donovan's goal vs Algeria made me damn proud to be an American :use:

World Reacts to Donovan's goal
Still get chills

Woodgate, another great one disowned of his potential glory by the injury gods.

Dida hated alot of players (he was wont for the ill timed big f-up, kind of made a career of it, didn't he?).

I NEVER understood why AC Milan wasted a non-European Community spot on him, especially with the goalkeeping talent which the country normally produces.

Must have been a nice commission in it for Berlusconi.

Sid Bream scoring against the Pirates
Alabama's elite 8 run (terribly sad that its up there but we have nothing better, I'd take a 4-8 football season next year in exchange for a final four in a heartbeat)
Donovan versus Algeria
1992 and 2011 football championships (I was kind of annoyed the whole Texas game, fricking Garrett Gilbert)
Fulham 4-1 Juventus

1. LSU winning national championship in 2003
2. Croatia's run in World Cup in 1998 (was a great moment for a small country)
3. Saints Super Bowl
4. Leeds 1991/2 First Division title (This is so low because I was able to make only three matches in person that year and it was before the days of widespread television coverage of football in the US)
5. Red Sox winning 2004 World Series

It's hard to rank them, but these are the ones when I went 100% insane:
Sid Bream's Slide in the 1992 NLCS
Andres Escobar's Own Goal Against Colombia - I went insane basically that whole game. I was 10 years old and watched it on a projector screen at Clemson Soccer Camp.
Will Bynum's Game-Winning Layup Against Oklahoma St at the 2004 Final Four
Calvin Johnson's TD Catch Against Clemson - Watch the muffed punt on the play before if you want context.
The Donovan Goal, Of Course

Florida's BCSNGs and basketball NCs weren't ever really down to the wire or shocking wins. They were awesome (especially beating OU considering where I live) but I have never experienced such joy as when Arshavin scored to go 2-1 up on Barça. That game was probably my favorite sports fan moment.

1 - Liverpool Champions League 2005
2 - Mississippi State SEC Football title run 1998
3 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers Super Bowl Championship 2002-2003
4 - Utah Jazz NBA title run 1998
5 - Mississippi State Final Four 1996

My #1 team will always be Mississippi State football, but top memories and Mississippi State Football don't generally go together. I'm probably also the only non-Mormon Utah Jazz fan from Mississippi.

Top 5 in terms of pure elation at the moment:
1) When Xabi tied the game/Shevchenko missed penalty.

2) Ronde Barber intercepting McNabb on a late drive to send the Bucs to the Super Bowl. Eagles had our number for a couple of years before that, and the game was under 40 degrees. Bucs had not won a game when the temperature was below 40 at this time.

3) John Stockton hits 3 against Rockets to send Jazz to second consecutive finals.

4) Hazelwood kicking the game winning FG vs. Arkansas in 98 to keep SEC West title hopes alive. This was after we converted a 4th and 15 earlier in the winning drive.

5) Aguero goal vs. QPR to prevent Manchester United from winning the title.
