Exactly. The game is such that one team can completely dominate, yet lose. The drama of the moment of a goal is unlike any other event in sports.

Awesome. Wish we had MLS in NOLA. Thinking about taking my son to Houston for a match as well.

Heard the crowd is electric at the dynamo stadium

It is the perfect spectator sport

Two hours of intense drama and you are done

I've only been once. We sat behind one of the goals, above their "ultras" groups. It was cool. They were beating on drums and singing the entire game.

Think we sat in 216

I'm not sure I'm the guy for that since I watch more Bundesliga than Premier League but I can try to guide you. What has been your favorite team to watch in the World Cup?

Germany so far

I like the Princeton offense style they play. I like that they can make you look stupid with the simplest passes and deft control of the ball

I say EPL because they are easy to find games on directv and easy to follow through the UK press. I wouldn't know where to look for the other leagues

Bayern Munich... especially if you love a bunch of passing. Pep Guardiola is currently the coach of Bayern and he's the king of "tiki taka." All of the Bayern Munich games are on GolTV which you may already have on DirecTV and if not, it's pretty cheap to add.

Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm, Jerome Boateng, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Toni Kroos and Thomas Müller all start for the German National Team and for Bayern -- although Kroos may be sold soon.

No problem, here's our Bayern Munich thread if you want to keep up with the team. LINK

I'd encourage you to watch as much soccer as possible. I watch the EPL fairly often since it's just so easy to access but from what you described, Bayern would really interest you. Just deal with GolTV for one year and the Bundesliga will be on Fox starting with the 2015-16 season.

For an EPL team Arsenal is the choice if you like Germany. If you go Bundesliga, Bayern is the one.

I used to be hung up on goals too but have come to appreciate the skill to play correctly. I really enjoy the intensity and anxiety of the lack of scoring but the abundance of chances

On the flip side, without goals there is no ebb and flow, no momentum swings, and fewer displays of meaningful offensive tactics and talent. This would be a better sport with typical 4-2 or 3-2 scores instead of 1-0 or 2-1.

But none of that answers my question. Was this SUPPOSED to be a 1-0 sport? Is it better or worse this way?

No one knows. More importantly, no one cares.

But here, I'll throw you a bone just so you'll scurry away.

Yes and yes.
