Does FIFA have the balls to actually change either location or has too much money passed under the table?

I'm confused as to why England hasn't hosted since 1966. They already have the facilities, Wembeley as the crown jewel, and travel for the teams would be very little.

If they can host an Olympics why not a World Cup?

Edit: This would be for 2018 as an emergency site since they already have facilities built

I doubt they dump the Russian WC but the Qatar one is a distinct possibility.

In the end I bet they stay with both though.

FIFA may as well be the NCAA w/how corrupt it is.

If one gets it WC pulled the other should as well since the dirty laundry of both are tied together.

Haven't they basically come out and said that they aren't changing Russia?

I really doubt they do anything about either. Because FIFA...

In terms of corruption, FIFA >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> the NCAA.

FIFA rejects calls to move 2018 World Cup away from Russia

How bad is it that not only should the next World Cup be moved, but the one after that too?

no

That's just the $ we know about.

Having faith in FIFA to make the correct decision about corruption is like having faith in David Kahn to make the correction decision in the NBA Draft.

Neither. You don't need to make this thread weekly.

Russia is pretty much the white trash of Europe

Most western Europeans don't like Russia and lots of Russians who leave and move abroad don't speak very highly of it.

Doesn't change the idea that Putin is an alpha. So was Stalin. Bad people from bad countries can be "alpha" leader types (they often are). And I doubt most people on these boards admire it in him as much as they loathe the lack of it in their own leaders.

As for the next WCs, Russia slogged through the Sochi Olympics but made it through. They'll keep 2018. But I suspect the Qatar thing eventually unravels...or I should say, melts under the harsh spotlight.

Yep. We need our leaders to be more erratic, illogical, and prone to things like genocide and political imprisonment.

Looking at you Obama.

It's time to sign that executive order declaring yourself emperor for life. That would be super alpha, and ultimately win the conservatives over.

Clearly he must not have any positives. People are like some Star Wars sith if they have to see everything as either black or white. The guy has some strong leadership skills. He is about 90% garbage, of course.

It works for the Russian people who live off hand outs and like to be told what to do. The ones who don't like that leave.

That simplifies Russia problems a lot, don't you think? He is the front of the problem but only part of it. These folks have not governed themselves too well for the past 100 years.

Besides, his policies and their tangible effects are what make people leave. Not his leadership projection.
