I agree that the National Team camps shouldn’t be prospect camps (Unless you’re calling up a US u-23 or two) but I disagree that players need to be proven at their club.

Give me a player who’s training with Barca, Chelsea, Bayern etc every day even if they’re not playing every match vs a starter for Minnesota United.

Most of the time on the ball developing is in training - not games. And the speed and creativity of the training sessions at elite European clubs is on another level than the MLS.

Counter-point: Julian Green in 2014 was nowhere near ready for international play, despite tearing it up for Bayern II and getting UCL call-up for Bayern.
