I just can't see the reasoning behind it.

How do you feel about the rainbow flags you randomly see at soccer matches?

All the thin blue line flag is supporting cops, which is not a bad thing. It's a shame that it's been totally hijacked into people thinking it's some form of hate speech.

I'm fine with it. There are and have been a lot of gay players, coaches, etc. that for one reason or another didn't feel comfortable enough to come out. If they can see that there is support for them to be who they are, then I don't see how anyone can see that as a bad/negative thing.

There has been a total of maybe 1 openly gay player in MLS? Robbie Rogers?

So how is the blue line flag negative?

And why is that not ok in your eyes, but the rainbow flag is?

Because social media says so? Do you not see how that is a horrific slippery slope?

You said you couldn't understand why anyone would bring it to a soccer match, so whether you said it or not, there was an implication.

If you're cool with the rainbow flag, you have to be cool with the blue line flag, especially if your reasoning is there were gay players in soccer, because I'm going to go out on a limb and say even more players have a family member on the force.

You have to admit that is a HUGE stretch.

Is there a history of players being ridiculed, ostracized, denied opportunities, treated unfairly, hazed, beaten, etc for having a family member that's a cop? Has anyone ever cared that a player's family member was a cop?

I have to imagine right now, not many players want people to know if they do, so... maybe?

So flags with political connotations can only come out if some other person cares?

Unless their family member is abusing or killing people, damn near no one will care.

Again, I NEVER SAID DON'T DISPLAY IT. I just don't see why you would.

When do we play a game that matters next?

Define "matters".

If you're loose with the term, then we have the Nations League in March, and then Gold Cup in July.

If by matter, you only mean World Cup implications, qualifying doesn't start for us until September.

That's the answer I was looking for. I really only care about the World Cup and the Olympics.
