Beautiful game , amazing play , great tactics. We have some players .

Dwyer, Acosta, Rowe, and McCarty look great . They should have spots .

Arriola played pretty well today too.

Acosta should have a full time starting 11 spot locked up IMO.

Listening to Twellman announce a friendly is the absolute worst.

Thought I saw him win a few balls, but I could be wrong.

If you're talking about the first-team, I agree with Acosta, but in regards to Dwyer and McCarty, need to see if they can sustain what they did today.

As for Rowe, he looked good at times, but also looked a step slow. Not sure how viable of a winger option he is when we have the likes of Nagbe, Fab, Arriola and Pulisic when he's not playing centrally.

Maybe struggled was a strong word, just felt like it wasn't on par with what he has shown us in the past.

McCarty might be a decent option off the bench in the second half of a World Cup game, if only to shore up the middle of the field and retain possession if winning.

He could be what Beckerman was to the last cycle, except with less aggression in the back but better distribution up top.

They both are always calm and composed on the ball and hardly make the wrong pass.

ETA: Corona looked good today, too.

I didn't rate Beckerman's performance in the World Cup as highly as others, but that's mainly because our formation compensated for Beckerman's lack of athleticism and rather uncreative passes. It forced Bradley to cover for both Beckerman's deficiencies and Jones' tactical indiscipline. Bradley covered more ground than any other player in the tournament after four games, and his performance suffered for it.

I'm afraid that starting McCarty would hamper us tactically in the same manner.

I agree.

Last cycle, I think with Jurgen's tactics or lackthereof, you needed a guy like Beckerman who would sit in front of the backline because the ball was on that end more times than not.

Now, with both more talent and better tactics, I think we can get away with having a Bradley-Acosta two-man midfield. That said, Dax could serve as good cover for this cycle. Not sure I want him going to Russia though, or at the very least playing a lot of minutes.
