When Bradley is bringing up the ball on a 3 on 4 break, do something to get behind the defense or draw a defender or two away from the ball. Jozy just jogged ando basically turned it into a 2 on 4. Bradley ended up having to stop the attack because Jozy was lazy or out of shape.

He's always been good for 2-3 boneheaded plays a game but he was far from our worst player last night.
The entire setup at the top sucks right now. We all know Jozy is better with someone running off him. Well everyone but Klins apparently.
I just hate when we go into hoof it into the box so we can ping pong the ball around and hope one of our slow arse forwards bangs something in. Fortunately it worked last night but that shite will bite us against CR and Mex.

Man, we may have played like shite last night but it was a great time overall and I'm just glad we came away with the win. That was the first time I've seen Toyota Stadium sold out and I thought the crowd was pretty awesome for a US game (The only other USMNT game I've been to was the Gold Cup game two years ago at Cowboys Stadium which was ALL Mexican fans).

Jozy isn't perfect but his first touch is decent. Yedlin's has improved a lot over the past six months.

I think he meant in reference to last night. His first touch was below his usual standard I thought. That was my only complaint with him.

This is exactly what I saw on the field. Jozy looked extremely lazy and unable to move with/without the ball. We were glad to see him come off the field.

I don't know, he seemed to hold the ball well enough. There were a few times I was pleased with his ability to possess, shield, and hold up for his teammates. His finishing was poor, except for the one where Escobar made a brilliant save that went directly off of Clint's head into goal. But other than that, he's just too slow and lumbering for me. And I know it's been said a million times on here by those more educated than I am in regards to US soccer, but Jozy and Clint together is a nonbo. It doesn't work, and I wish Jurgen would seek other options up top if we are going to play this 4-4-2.

Meh.
That was the only instance where I was wondering wtf he was doing. His purpose is to stand in one place, take the ball down, turn, and let other runners get ahead of him. The dude isn't Sturridge, he's not going to run in behind no matter how much this board wants him to. He's a classic 9 target man.

Didn't watch last night, have only watched the first half so far today, but some general thoughts I imagine will apply throughout the game:
- We can't press. Not with this group. Jozy and Clint don't work hard enough from the front, and it gives opposition too much time to 1) settle on the ball and 2) have players check to the ball. All that ends up happening is we run ourselves out of a defensive shape.
- Timmy Chandler is, wow, just so, so bad. He's slow, heavy legged, offers little going forward (forget the goal in the friendly), and constantly plays long balls over the top for our immobile forwards to chase. I can't decide if he's slower than he is dumb, or vice versa.
- Beckerman has been very poor shielding our back four, which ties into the first point. He's usually quite good at this role, but I think it's systemic, because when he hasn't had to cover a ton of ground, he's been generally disruptive and okay on the ball.
- The Zardes - Yedlin outside pairing doesn't work. We need a more technical player opposite Yedlin, someone who can tuck in and let Fab overlap, i.e Zusi. I said this before the game. Zardes and Yedlin should be like for like subs or Yedlin should be at RB if they're going to be on the field together. It throws off our entire balance and frick me if we ask Tim Chandler to run any more than he has to.
- Oh, and Honduras' "kick the frick out of them early" strategy was brilliant. It really messed with us. I'm not kidding. We were so afraid to get our ankles broken we were just coughing the ball up long.
