Well as an Arsenal fan getting some sort of trophy would be nice.

Well, to have a chance to win the prestigious SUPER CUP, they would have to win a trophy.

I had no confidence in Lukaku walking up to take that pen but that effort was atrocious.

Might not have meant much, but what a match...felt Chelski deserved to win...Cech played out of his mind in extra time

Chelsea did well to create quality chances, but I definitely don't think they 'deserved' to win, Bayern had like 41 shots 64% possession and something absurd like 500 more completed passes. That was one of Schurrles better performances that I've seen. The whole Bayern backline was pretty bad really.

Why does Jose hate Mata?

Yeah I never wish for other teams to get red cards, same as I don't like other teams having injuries just bc it cheapens the match to a degree. I didn't see Ramires first yellow, but he hip checked the piss out of Götze, so I don't think the call was that bad.

Good points tweezy, we passed the ball fine, just didn't play well when we were a man up...

Dante defecated down his leg that entire match...

Schweiny was greatly missed...

Meh, was definitely going for, and won, the ball.

I don't really have problem with the yellow because it looks bad but I don't think it was dirty. Both guys were running full speed and trying to stop before they collided. Ramires was just clumsy and his plant ended up on Gotze's foot. It wouldn't be the first time he's made a clumsy foul like that but I've rarely seen evidence to suggest he's a dirty player.

May be bias but that's what it looks like to me.

The passing was outstanding I thought.

Can't believe Oscar blew that gift Dante tried to give. I can't figure out how he is preferred to Mata.

Entertaining match overall though. Still can't believe how horrible that Lukaku penalty was.

Apart from the first 20 or 30 minutes it was a great watch and I found myself way more interested in the match than I originally was at the start. Apart from the sole DM the only real change I've noticed this season is that Bayern play with a bit less of the directness they had last year that brought so much success. Over the last season or two they've had some of the highest passing and possession %s on the continent, so this concept is not entirely new. Pep, by making the team a bit more lateral, has increased the possession and passing slightly. It remains to be seen if this is for the better or the worse.

Mata isn't fit to play 90 minutes

And Oscar did blow that one chance put he has been really good so far this season

When did he pick up this mysterious injury or develop a sudden lack of fitness?

That's just a bs excuse and even if it were true why can't he play 60 or 70 or come on as a sub for 15 or 20 or 30 when we need someone to calm down the midfield and keep the ball to relieve pressure?

He MAY have been going for the ball but that is not winning that ball. That's running into a dude and the ball going elsewhere.
