Also, Porto's manager quit today. Bring on Chelski.

He won the best player in Ligue 1 last year. I see what UT is trying to say, though. He hasn't unleashed himself on the world stage yet. Playing for Lille sorta hampers you in that way.

I think this was inevitable. The thing that really scares me is that all the Porto players might try to follow him. When Mourinho left in 2004 he took 3 starters with him (Paulo Ferreira, Deco, and Carvalho)

Lior Refaelov has signed for Club Bruges

Reports say Jay Bothroyd signed for Celtic. TBA Friday.

Niko Krancjar reportedly has been seen at the Glasgow Airport. Doubt Celtic are in for him, but

Bojan to AS Roma for 10M.
Barca retains an option to buy him back after two years for either 15 or 20M

Seems like the first done deal as Sabatini rebuilds Roma.

Do you think he has hit a mental wall? 3 years ago he was a much bigger prospect than Pedro or Busquets, but he has not progressed at all. If anything, he has gotten worse.

He looked awesome as a 17 year old. But he was playing striker. I'm not sure how many opportunities he's going to have playing striker in that Barca team. As a pure striker, I think he'll be pretty good if he can avoid injuries.

I think he'll be a good fit at Roma especially with Luis Enrique keeping the 4-3-3 presumably with more pressing up the pitch.

There's still so much uncertainty surrounding Vucinic and Menez and whether a Pastore, Lamela ect will be headed to Roma as well that it's hard to know exactly where he'll be playing mostly and with whom.

I'm sure though he'll slot into Totti's role as false punta when Totti rests--which is one of our primary needs-- but otherwise he may be more of an attacking winger opposite Vuci. Though with Totti and Vuci it's a pretty fluid trident.

What are your thoughts on Clichy? Why's Arsenal supposedly making him available? Seems that he's high on Enrique/Sabatini's wish list but I'm not convinced he'll be that big of an upgrade over Riise aside from pace -- though god knows we do need an infusion of young legs!

A great LB on his day. He needs someone on his side to give him some help though. He also suffers from positional lapses on occasion. Attacking, he provides width, but he's not a naturally left-footed player, so crossing isn't his strong suit. It's actually providing penetration when the left wing forward moves inside. I hope he stays, but he would be an excellent buy. His problems defensively have more to do with Arsenal's defensive tactics than a general lack of ability. A more disciplined midfield player like De Rossi might do wonders for his attacking play though.

Well with Riise our defense is well accustomed to this.

This makes me more optimistic if he does wind up coming to Roma. We've lacked a winger with pace who can provide penetration which is why I've been hoping we'd be able to pry Isla away from Udine.

He has plenty of pace. Supposedly can keep up with Theo Walcott. Pace has been his saving grace, as he had a nagging back injury that led to poor form some years ago. I hope we will be alright with Wenger's ability to develop LB's if Gael leaves.

I'd rather him not play for McLeish anyway.

True. McLeish sucks. I was hoping BB could stay in the EPL.
