Wilshere would be worth at least £50mil on the English pay scale that's been set up with Carroll, Henderson, Jones, et al.

Agreed. Would you take it? I would not.

Absolutely not. Even if Cesc and Nasri were assured to stay this summer I'd say no to that.

The English media hype adds £5-£10 million pounds to most English players.

It's interesting to me that the demand for English youngsters doesn't extend to all British youngsters, with players like Aaron Ramsey and James McCarthy (born in Scotland) going for £5 million and £1.2 million respectively.

If Wilshere ever gets sold I'd be inconsolable. Like post Aaron Ramsey injury inconsolable, except for years instead of months.

Sunderland going after Wes Brown, John O'Shea, and Darron Gibson? Three Man U lifers.

I saw that. The package for 12mm. Bruce and Fergie must have a man crush on each other if that deal goes through.

Would not be happy if I was a Sunderland fan. I'd rather have 20 million for Henderson than 12 or 13 and N'gog. Assuming that's what happens and this deal goes through then they just reinvested that money in an uninspiring deal.

I see it as a fair trade. Brown and O'Shea are on the tail end of their careers. Gibson has been poor for them and needs a new start. Fergie does a great job getting squad players who are versatile and are willing to play only whenever their needed.

It pains me to say it, but he really is a great coach/mangaer.

Yeah I don't understand why its just English players and not British players. Gareth Bale was a fairly reasonable fee too. 7mil or something like that.

I have no clue how he's valued at 7m.

Fulham have been linked with Kevin Strootman. I'm not getting my hopes up, he's a Dutch International at 21 and a quality looking player (going by his youtube highlights.)

Apparently Redknapp is interested in a cash plus Robbie Keane deal for Moussa Dembele.

Annoyingly, the smoke of Faddy to Celtic is getting larger...

Don't get me wrong, I like him, but Celtic doesn't need him, his injuries, or his wages atm.

ETA: However, if it means we get rid of the Greek Tragedy, I'd be quite happy about it.

I think Celtic will sign Given, Faddy, and Long in the next couple weeks.

They have no reason to sell. They aren't in debt, they have owners who can buy players, and basically can set any price they want. The new squad rules put a premium on homegrown players, so I imagine prices will steadily increase for English and perhaps British talent.

I wouldn't be surprised if Man U pays it. Fergie doesn't really frick around when he settles on who he wants.
