Just saw that Spurs are 4-0 with four clean sheets in last four home matches against City.

What a complete performance. Can’t remember Dier or Sanchez getting caught out of position once. Reggy read the game perfectly and had a number of perfectly timed interceptions to start the break. Tanganga 1v1 was incredible and he was that bastard that Mourinho talked about.

Skipp, Dele, & Hojbjerg each put in a shift and seemed to get better as the game went on.

Moura was MOTM for me. Son and Bergwijn got into great positions to cause problems on the counter. Would have loved to see Bergwijn hit the goal with that 1 on 1 vs Ederson.

So many positives to take from that performance. COYS!

I'm giving Nuno credit for this. He set the team up to play to Dier-Sanchez's strengths. City were rarely able to get a free run at them, and instead they were just able to deal with crosses, mostly.

I 100% agree. I think our front thee plus Skipp and Hojbjerg playing so narrow was a game plan to force the attack wide.

Nuno’s setup was perfect IMO. We didn’t press their defenders in their own half, but as soon as the ball moved into our half we got close and forced it wide.

I feel like this team is already Nuno's. These guys played with passion and stuck to the game plan and it paid off.

Tanganga played like a man.

What a huge start. The best part is that we proved we can win without the guy who had become a club legend and the heart and soul of the squad:

In all seriousness, this system fits a lot of the guys perfectly since it’s what Mourinho was trying but failed to piece together. Lucas for example is a nightmare counterattacking player. Hell of a shift from him.

I’m sure the Kane decision has already been made, but I feel like he could do way more damage in this system as a false 9-ish player given his passing abilities than as an out-and-out striker at MCFC. Either way we’ll be fine, as that transfer fee can give Paratici a lot to work with.

Lamela scoring for Sevilla on his debut

ETA: Make that 2 goals.

Yeah same. My little goat. Honestly I’d give the entire squad motm. That was the best effort I’ve seen in some time from the players. They all fought their asses off. The fans being in full force no doubt a big part of that. Was great to see.

Are you watching, Harry Kane?!?!

Damn that was satisfying. A lot of good things but most important to me was that for the first time in 18 months we played like we wanted to be there. It was great.

Kane to be included in Europe squad. Maybe he isn’t done at Spurs yet!

Maybe Kane was watching yesterday!

I doubt he plays tbh. One bc I think the relationship is done and two if we are selling him why risk an ankle tweak and lose out on $150 million?

Here is the full squad for Europa Conference League btw

quote:

Goalkeepers: Lloris, Gollini, Austin

Defenders: Doherty, Reguilon, Romero, Sanchez, Rodon, Dier, Sessegnon, Tanganga, Davies, Carter-Vickers, Paskotsi

Midfielders: Hojbjerg, Winks, Sissoko, Lo Celso, Alli

Attackers: Bryan, Bergwijn, Lucas, Son, Clarke, Kane

Kane didn't make the trip to Portugal. Word is Man City is finally making a legitimate offer. Looks like this deal might actually happen. Question is who do we get to replace him or can we at this point?

That's what I'm worried about at this point.
Seems like Levy has actually put in legit offers for Vlahovic and Martinez, but neither have worked out.

May be time for a loan deal with an older or younger player as a stop gap.
