I need some advice. This will be my first epl experience.
I purchased tickets for their game with Man United late December. I'm looking for must-do pregame festivities, pubs, etc. what are the hotspots? What should I avoid? Any advice in general?
Tia.

It's London, so take advantage of the public transportation, namely the tube.

This
London is very easy to navigate. Go to the White Hart Lane tube stop and walk

Yeah, just wanted to make sure the tube wasn't a clusterfrick getting to a match like some public transit systems in the states.

From Spurs official website:
hope that helps since I don't think there's a WHL tube station
quote:
White Hart Lane mainline station is four minutes walk from the stadium, with regular services that connect to the Victoria Line tube service via Seven Sisters.
Northumberland Park mainline station is eight minutes walk from the stadium, with regular services that connect to the Victoria line tube service at Tottenham Hale station.
Trains run from both White Hart Lane and Northumberland Park stations to Liverpool Street Station and direct trains take about 20 minutes.
There are a number of excellent bus services from Seven Sisters running past the stadium entrance. A taxi rank is available at Tottenham Hale Station.

Your rights its a national rail station but its still easy to get to. Tottenham Hale station is a hike.
Catching a train from kings cross to there is easy
Arsenal's ground is so much easier to get to

I went to the Spurs/Liverpool match at WHL in August and it was very easy to get to via public transportation. (ETA: Kind of easy... would be better if the station was closer but the bus was still convenient) I was staying close to Oxford Street and just took the Victoria line from Oxford Circus to Seven Sisters station and then took a bus a few blocks right up to the stadium.
As for pregame, it was a 12 or 1pm Sunday kickoff and I was hungover from the night before and just grabbed food from a street vendor right outside the stadium. Definitely missed out on the pregame experience.
After the game, the street you bus down (High Road) to the stadium from the tube station I used is shut down for all of the exiting fans to walk on. It was a mile or two to walk back and pretty sure you could find a pub here pre and post game.
Had a lot of fun even though the Spurs crowd was taken out of the game pretty early on. Enjoy!
Side note: After the game walking back outside the stadium a fellow American asked me where the nearest station was. Turned out he was from Scottsdale and lived about a half mile away from where I'm at. Small world.

There's no tube stop there so you'll have to get close and take a bus, kind of a clusterfrick. Plus WHL is in a terrible part of London. Prayers sent.
