An old Messi is really interesting because if he's got the right people to feed him he'll get hacked and cut and he'll go down because he'll be older. he'll draw a lot of penalties, when he doesn't bang it in.

Bingo.
Assuming his wages are reasonable it's actually a pretty smart move to fill Vorm's vacancy. Opens up another foreign player spot.
Spurs' homegrown issues is a mess between Davies being Welsh and Dier being Portuguese.

no but there is a LOT of smoke from various outlets about Messi being angry with the Barca board
their transfers have been SO frickING BAD the past 4-5 years. they have a very old club (acquiring Pjanic doesn't help) and Griezmann has been an utter disaster. supposedly acquiring Pjanic was purely a financial move so the board wasn't personally liable for some large amount. the move fixed the books but hurt them long term. it's all in shambles
supposedly Messi is basically saying "get me Neymar back or I won't re-sign" and PSG won't move Neymar, even though he wants to leave
