Barcelona confirm the signing of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund. 105 million euros plus add-ons. The player will sign a five year contract and his buy out-clause is set at 400 million euros.

PSG starting this downward spiral really fricked everything up.

This kid is good but no where near worth this much, as well as Cou being worth 130 million. Not a chance Barca would pay this much unless they had the PSG money.

I think he's implying the domino effect of the absurd transfer fee for Neymar is rippling across the continent. A top side in France takes a player from a top side in Spain who take a player from a top side in Germany after failing to take a player from a top side in a England. Barça were prepared to make Couthino the second most expensive transfer in history. I love Cou, but that's absurd.

Can't lay all of this at the feet of PSG though. City and Barça have swung their financial dicks in this window too.

Ah. Yeah. You can jack up the price when you know the other side has $300 million to spend.

Think McCormack going to be leaving to come to Sunderland next. Swag was offered to us per Grayson but think his wages were too high.

West Ham have pulled out of a deal to sign William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon, according to Sky Sources.

The Hammers have decided to walk away after Sporting refused to lower their £40m valuation for the Portugal midfielder.

All this with "Financial Fair Play". Who gave Neymar the money to pay his own buyout? The Mbappe thing with a loan then buyout is PSG and Qattar pointing their middle finger at FFP.

The point of FFP is not to create a fair field of play but to keep everyone in their place.

Just makes me glad we bought Pogba last year. Have to imagine his price would have doubled?

Heard an argument this morning that Pogbas' transfer is actually the start of it not Neymars'.

Come on.

Pogba's transfer fee was 3 million pounds more than Gareth Bale's, which was the previous record.

Neymar's transfer fee was 111 million pounds more than Pogba's, and Dembele's is about to be more than Pogba's.

You could possibly argue that, but he was still less than half the price of Neymar. I can't imagine a world where 2017 Dembele is worth more.
