I started following United as a kid in the mid 90s when we were one of only teams on tv. City won the lottery and most of you never gave a shite until 2008. Don't give us that bullshite about supporting them bc of Oasis.

Exactly. MAYBE a handful of people on this board have some logical connection to their team. We didn't grow up in Manchester. Our parents didn't grow up rooting for Chelsea. We saw a team on TV or our favorite band liked them or we liked their color or they were good on FIFA.
My friends I played with liked Arsenal, Chelsea and United. I was a big Oasis fan and saw videos and pictures of them in City gear online. They had a guy named Goater, which was hilarious to my teenage self, and that was it. Did I "luck out" with the takeover? Abso-fricking-lutely. But I watch every match I can, check the latest news every morning, and keep up with them more than any sports team I like other than LSU.
It is stupid to get into a "legit fan" pissing match about European soccer teams. When is the last time you saw a huge Blackburn fan in the States? We're all whores to some extent

It happens. I started cheering for the Warriors, the only other team I really care about outside of United and AUFC, after they drafted Steph Curry. Followed several years of frustrating basketball before the Klay and Draymond drafts. And then the Kerr hire made everything go.
I understand hitting the lottery, because I had no idea when I started watching Golden State that they would be what they are today.
