I went to about 7 of them. There was a big talent gap between some teams. Jesters were middle of the pack talent wise.
I enjoyed the games. Maybe some of that was it was they were the first sporting events I attended in 6 months. I intend to go the games again next year.

Been to several games. Teams are talented. The team I watched was college players with a couple of D1 level HS seniors.
League had potential, with good local support. Then covid pumped the brakes.

There’s a spring session coming up. 9 games between March and May. I can’t find a schedule of times and places though. They might be friendlies ahead of the fall season...IDK.

Well that’s intimidating. Just registered my 8th grader. Hopefully he can play tough and make the 18 man roster. Uphill battle, but a good experience none the less. You know what they say...if you’re good enough, you’re old enough.

You registered a 13/14 yo for a U19 team?

You must not know Gaston son is Messi, Adam Vinateri, Patrick Mahomes, and Fernando Tatis all in a 13 year olds body. Quite the lad, superb genetics

It is an invite, no expectations of seeing the field or even making the squad. Hope they offer some access to watch field level at least.

Port City is the squad. Playing for is a misnomer...registered with is more accurate.

That’s his true passion. 55 yarder this weekend pushed his career long and his mechanics are all the way cleaned up. Has some really good coaches behind him and is ready for the journey.
He may (end up to) be a great HS QB and an exceptional soccer player, but for now it looks like if DI is in his cards it’s as a football specialist.

I thought you were trolling before, but you’ve stepped up your game

Life is crazy and I don’t know what will happen. This is what it is.

Are you trying to move your kid to yet another new team? What happened with the hattiesburg team?

Playing up for HFC didn’t work because my son had football practice every day until HFC practice time during the fall, and it’s 75 minutes away.
No, Port City is affiliated with GCU (current club) and is effectively an all-star selection of club, and I assume other local players, from U15-U18. I don’t have a feel on how many GCU boys versus other talent makes up the team, nor the age of those selected for the 18 man roster. I’ve heard they start with ~26 to down select from.
I just registered my son this week, so he doesn’t even have a kit...I guess I’ll bring him to watch the 2 games next week. PITA, but it’ll be good for him to see.
