Actually I'm not wrong. I never said that MLS wasn't important to the growth of soccer in the US, but can you honestly say with a straight face that MLS is on par with the top European clubs?

And frick waking up @6am on a Saturday to watch Chelsea/Stoke City.

This was me after the 2002 World Cup. The Premier League is one of the top 4 leagues in the world, but to me has the absolute best drama. If you watch enough, you'll more than likely be drawn to a certain team/style of play, and it may not be who you expected.

I absolutely love waking up arse-early on a fall saturday, watching a couple of soccer games, then switching to college football.

So, again, which team are thinking of following, and why is it Arsenal?

The Liverpool wagon started in the 70's and they won Europe not to long ago their train is no different than anyones.

I want to get into the MLS, but my favorite thing about EPL is that it is all morning on Saturday before football games. I watch a few games early then go tailgating. If theres a game I had to miss cause I already went to tailgate I just record it and watch it later.

Plus they have some really good weekly shows to keep you up to date on all the Premier League games. All available in USA.

02 was a tremendous time to get into the sport, since fox sports world (before it became fsc) actually showed the top-tier epl matches, bundesliga, ligue 1, brasileiro, argentina primera, serie a, spl, even a few la liga games and uefa cup.

espn always had the champions league and usmnt friendlies.

also, ausse rules football at 3am FTW

Next fall try to catch a high school game or two.

Your avi says Central, LA - assuming that's the town? If so, Central High School has a team and was improved last year. Denham Springs in that district also has a good team and I think Zachary as well. LIve Oak was off as they lost 3 seniors (triplets at that) from the previous year including one who i think went on to play in college. But they should be back.

Other good teams in BR to watch - Catholic, Episcopol, University, Baton Rouge High School, St. Mikes and Parkview. St. Amant, Duthtown and EA down the road also have good teams.

The HS game is actually a fun and exciting game to watch. Lots of intense rivalries, student body support, etc.

Realistically MLS being around the Brazilian league in quality one day is just fine. Technical and exciting soccer that sends our players overseas but brings in good internationals from smaller countries. For this to happen our home grown talent and development of talent still has a long way to go.
