Are you trying to say that incidents like that are common when penalties are given?

Obviously a dive by Larsson but I'd say a good percentage of refs would call that a foul, though whether it would be a penalty or not is a matter of some controversy.

I think the Wolves defender is Jody Craddock, who is in no man's land in terms of defensive positioning. He has to make that challenge or Larsson is free to either go to the by line or have a shot at goal.

What are you trying to prove by using this example?

Well, clearly that dive created the only goal scoring chance in an otherwise lackluster game. Game probably ended 1-0.

In fact, that PK was 36% of the goal scoring opportunities created by that team FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.

Now you're just posting dives, which no one likes and everyone wishes would be eradicated from the game. Not a good argument for making the penalty area smaller though.

It might lessen it's impact in terms of PKs, but there are dives all over the field.

I think you might be the only one who sees PKs as a problem, and you don't understand the effects that changing the dimensions of the field will have on the game, which, with the change in the offside rule, is favoring attacking teams more and more.

It would be easier to just have refs start giving cards for dives. The vast majority are easy to spot.

I think most everyone would agree that flopping/dives and over reacting to fouls are a problem.

how is a smaller box the best way to solve this?

Enough with the trolling. Kindly GTFO, and if it isn't too much to ask, DIAF.

tipping point. a flop can win the game, it's practiced and then it's abused. remove the likelihood that a flop ends in points, then it will be a reduced occurrence.

That can be achieved in ways other than making the penalty area smaller, namely yellow cards for dives, and post-game fines and suspensions for dives the ref missed in the game.

I really don't think you understand how altering the penalty area will change the dynamics of the game in a really large way. It's ultimately a stupid suggestion that doesn't improve the way the game is played at all.

I'm for carding players that try to sell actual fouled as well, but here's a novel idea: quit being a bitch and fight through the foul. If you don't get the advantage, you will still get the penalty.

Hey guys, studs up challenges are a huge problem in todays game. I suggest we replace all cleats with slippers to remedy this.

shite. I like Mo Isom's chances against anyone that posts on this board.

as someone who has played an actual organized game against mo isom, i totally disagree. she is still a girl and it becomes quite obvious when you are on the same field.

Until you have a situation like Torres getting sent off against Man U for "diving" after getting cleated in the shin by Johnny Evans.

Soccer has, by far, the worst set of rules/enforcement of rules of any sport in the world.

Far too many games are decided by officials whether it be erroneous PKs, red cards, card accumulation in tournaments (single worst rule in sports) etc...
