And having to keep my mouth shut while these people talk about how the women's national team deserve equal pay and pretend that women's soccer isn't a huge gulf in quality away from the men's game

You should mind frick them by showing them the data proving the women actually get paid more than the men % wise.

They traded equal pay for a salary and benefits. The men and women will likely negotiate together and get equal pay under the new CBAs.

What's funny is that we directly discuss that because it's mentioned in that class action case decided last year, and they basically gloss over it

like fricking what

If this is a class about employment law, that may be irrelevant. Even US Soccer dropped that from their defense.

Maybe, although one of the defenses to an Equal Pay Act claim is “a pay system based on quantity or quality of output”. An argument could be made that the men’s national team’s quality of output is higher than the women’s national team’s. Probably wouldn’t hold up though.

Regardless, I just hate this charade that’s played in these discussions where it’s taboo to admit that the women’s game is of lower quality.

Step up and challenge them. It’s time that universities experience what they preach.. diversity of thought.

All you have to do is state - offer, acceptance, consideration.

All three were present when the USWNT and it’s union negotiated their CBA. Also why the judge threw that shite out rather quickly, but kept the lawsuit about equal treatment re. turf, facilities, etc.

Well I don't think it was a contract formation issue. The WNT brought claims under the Equal Pay Act and Title 7.
