Well, I guess the FFP hasn't gone as planned when one of your clubs decides to buy a bunch of teams throughout the world, make a huge signing or two in the name of an MLS club, and then loan them "temporarily" to your EPL title holding club and claim that since it is the same ownership group, they can do what is in best interest of the parent club.

which would be fine if the clubs owned player contracts in the MLS. Like the rest of the world.
This is why the franchise model will cause issues. You have to negotiate with the MLS to buy a player and most the money goes to the league not the club.
