They didn't finish well but don't want to take anything away from Timmy's positioning either. Made himself big on several occasions.
He had an epic game, no doubt. And I think his performance embodied everything this US team was about in terms of fearlessness and effort. And I hesitate to say this because I don't want to detract from his performance at all, but I do think people are getting carried away with the emphasis on number of saves made. The count was increased through a number of routine stops. That said, Timmay was a hero yesterday.

No, the defense allowed dangerous shots. Belgium just wasn't doing a great job at finishing.

16 saves. 6 were great/good.
10 were average/routine. I think going 10/10 on average/routine saves is a pretty good thing that some goalies would have an issue with on such a big stage.

Yeah, even if only 3 were great, the fact that he stayed focus for all of them is impressive alone.

yea exactly. the sheer number makes it impressive. If only he would have gotten more help.
