Those identified have been given suspensions and after the evidence is collected then they will be facing a possible lifetime ban. More club statements and one from mourinho can be found on the website.

How could that ever even come close to being enforced?

I'm not really sure. Someone thinks they have to check in at their local police station every time theres a home match? That seems a little impractical to enforce though.

That's exactly how they do it

Or if you are caught on cctv within a radius of the ground on match day you go to jail

Wow so they can't travel anywhere every other weekend for 9 months out of the year?

This seems pretty easy to get around.

It probably just allows everyone to say that they're doing all they can to fight the good fight without even losing a single ticket sale.

I don't think England uses the government ID plus special club ID card that Italy does to enter matches?

That does keep out a majority of the convicted hooligans but also drove away thousands of regular fans in the process in Italy.

It created huge difficulties in buying last minute tickets and made it near impossible for fans living in other cities to get tickets to attend (for ex, if you were a Saints fan who lives in New Orleans but originally from, say, Houston, you would have to change your passport address, permament records address, car insurance etc etc etc to New Orleans to get the card to attend, if you're a Saints fan that has had to move to another city forget about it).

Also, many regular fans simply protested the "bank/police state" idea of it and also some horror stories circulated of people being arrested after their stolen card was used by banned fans.

There's really no easy solution it would seem.

The Chelsea football thug being hunted for pushing a black man off the Paris underground is a former Irish cop, the Sunday World can reveal.

An international manhunt has been launched for three Chelsea supporters after a video of them shoving Souleymane S off the Metro went viral, sparking a wave of condemnation around the globe.

The Sunday World has learned that the man cops want to speak to for pushing the Paris-born French-Mauritian man from the train is 50-year-old Richard Barklie.

And we can also reveal the extraordinary double life the ex-RUC police officer leads.

By day he is the director of a worldwide human rights organisation, lecturing on racial tolerance around the globe. But at the weekend Barklie rubs shoulders with hooligans and racists from the notorious Chelsea Headhunter crew.

haha you can't make this shite up

and i called it, he's a member of the head hunters
