Those people should sit down so that they don't block the view of others. That's common courtesy.

IDGAF either way. If I get to sit, great. If I gotta stand to see the game, I gotta stand.

The bald guy is an a-hole. Seems that the beard guy has season tickets right at the top of the "standing area". Looks like everyone in front of him were standing. I've been to 3 USMNT games and stood the whole time.

If the person in front of me is standing, I'm standing.

If the people behind me are able bodied adults, I don't give a frick.

If the people behind them were complaining, that'd be one thing, but the bald guy was

3-5 rows up.

Screw him, if I pay for seats and want to stand, then I will. If the people directly behind me are lazy assholes and ask me to sit, I will be courteous. If someone 5 rows up tells me to sit I will say frick you.

I can't possibly explain how much I agree with this. I love the comment about how in Europe they sit and if you stand you'll get punched. I would venture to say, at least with my experience watching Liverpool, most stand more than they sit during the game.

This happened to me at the Saints game the other night. I stood up when Jimmy Graham caught a TD and the woman behind me said, "I'm glad you got to see that, because I sure didn't." I told her the only place she should expect people to sit down during a TD is the handicap section.

This.

And during the Celtic-Real match the guy behind me complained to one of the ushers about me. CSB.

I hate people like this. What the frick did you expect when you bought tickets to a sporting event?

That's only in certain sections for English teams. I've sat for the majority of games at Hull and Barcelona, and for probably half of an Arsenal game. Of course all three of those teams have fairly modern stadia with decent sight lines.

I feel like an adult is obligated to sit down, only if he/she blocks the view of a child or elderly person.

The Kop end is always standing. The Centenary and Main stands at Anfield also are always on their feet if the ball is in the box or out for a corner. While I realize that's not for the entire game, when we're in the other team's box (away from the Kop end) most of the stadium is on their feet. I remember watching us play United 2 years ago and being surprised at how often the Centenary stand was on its feet.

I was at the historic Shed end of Stamford Bridge for the Man U game in February. Not a single person near me sat down for the entire match. That being said a good portion of the stadium did sit down. Always better to assume you will be standing for a football or throwball game.

You should sit down if you are the only idiot in the section standing. But if everyone else is standing then you should too.

I will say this, in the Sparta Prague Mlady Horakove end the skins would have turned down the yelling guy with a fricking hammer.
