Beautiful, cheeky pass

-or-

Failed shot attempt that ended up in a great spot

My vote is for B.

He wanted to Bicycle kick it, but Brek couldn't get the initial pass right.

It was a shot, good try by him and good positioning by fiscal.

Failed attempt, but just him trying something created a goal so no shame in it. Wish we had more players who have the same creative mentality.

definitely a failed shot attempt. It was like he channeled my youth team coach that always offered up dinner to anyone that scored a header, back heel, or hat trick in a game. dude just wanted himself a nice steak!

Probably B. I think it was just a desperation attempt to try and get the ball into the goddamn net.

B.

Although if he would've hit it in, I would be buying a Boyd USMNT jersey right now.

The fact that an American striker tried something like that shows how far we've come in the creativity department. I don't care if he shanked it, the thought of it was pure genius.

C - who gives a flying frick we beat Mexico last night.

Seriously it was a shot there's no way he could have known fiscal was right there. But good things happen when you get the ball in and around the 6 which is exactly what Brek did.

was a masterful display of technique compared to Eden Hazard's attempt in the community shield

I don't know, he had to have seen Orozco to his left, and figured if I miss, he's there.

Barry Melrose of ESPN and NHL fame, has ALWAYS said "Throw the puck on net, good things happen." I think this is a case of us finally doing that.

Crazy4, spot-freaking-on, brother.

My first thought was how the hell did he know we had a player there... Then I realized it was probably a shot gone wrong...

Then I thought did Shea really mean to go inbetween that Mexican defenders leg or did he just mess up and get lucky...

Then I thought why didn't that Mexican defender get his leg out far enough to stop the little shot...

Then I decided God just decided to let USA win cause there is very little chance all those variables work out in USAs favor usually.

Everything happens so fast when your that close to goal. Brek definitely meant to meg the first guy he took on then his cross got deflected and fell to boyd. Once Brek was able to get to the line and play a ball in it would have taken great defensive work and/or a great save from Ochoa to keep us out of the net with that many American bodies pushed up.

I think brek's touch after the meg that sent the ball towards the line was a mistake. It looked like he wanted to keep going towards goal.
