The USSF would be smart to put soccer fields even small versions in the inner cities. They also need to get with the groups that will give a massive loan for ten percent of life time of contracts.

That’s the problem. They chase the money instead of the talent. They go after the soft suburban kids with money. Parents pay arse loads of money to make a team. In order to get on a national team the amount do travel you have to do makes it impossible for a player in the inner city.

Club sport kids, by and large, come from two parent homes where they get hugged and told “i love you” multiple times a day. Superior athletes with a chip on their shoulder does not this environment make.
