As crybaby dramatic bitch Dembele moves to Barca for 105 million euros + 40% in add ons (42 million euros)....

How does this affect Pulisic The god? Granted I'm not sure if Pulisic and Dembele played the same position, but is GOAT now an automatic starter no matter what with less competition for places? I know he's pretty much been playing in place of Reus a bit with Reus' injuries and such.

Would love to hear what yall think this means for our boy as I'm not an avid watcher of Dortmund.

He was going to play more anyway with his development progressing and Reus battling chronic injuries. Now, he'll definitely be seeing even more time on the right hand side with Ousmane gone.

yeah, if bayern want a shot at the top of the league this year, they better make their move for pulisic before the window closes.

This is really good for Christian. He was gonna see plenty more time this year anyways, but now he's an absolute no-doubt starter. The team will depend on him heavily to contribute.

He'll have the chance to prove himself as an elite player in the entire footballing world. He's already our best player at 18. Maybe he's at a top 2 or 3 club in the world soon if he plays well this year. Dortmund is perfect for him right now.

He is fantastic, but pump the brakes a tad.

I'm going to be contrary here and say this is neutral to negative for Pulisic. My main reasoning is that young players playing a lot at the top level tend to break down before their athletic peak. The more he's asked to shoulder the burden the worse I think it will be for him long term. There are enough good players on Dortmund where I think that might not be a problem, but there are players on Dortmund who should also serve as warning signs, like Sahin, who broke through at 16 years old, and Götze who broke through at 18.

It's not that far fetched. Is Juan Cuadrado that better of a player?

They'll most certainly buy another winger, and Schurrle should be back in a few weeks. Christian will play a ton, but he played a lot last year as well. His body is still maturing which will only help. Not worried about them running him into the ground.

Yeah, I hope Pulisic stays for 5 or so more years at Dortmund. Given the lack of success Dortmund players have had at other clubs, I'd argue there is enough evidence to suggest that there is something about the Dortmund environment that can get the most out of players that have played for a long time in their system.

Hopefully they buy someone else. If Gotze and Kagawa can return to an inkling of their best form, that might be enough to take some pressure off.

Gotze, Kagawa, and Sahin were all as heralded, if not more, than Pulisic, and Gotze and Sahin played as many games Pulisic at the same age. Those three were more who I was referring to. All had trouble for different reasons though.

What exactly did you expect them to do? Everyone on the planet is gonna make them overspend.
