Try being a soccer fan in Lubbock. I watched the champions league final at buffalo wild wings next to 4 guys in barca jerseys, one with a man u shirt, and 4 guys wearing Dallas Cowboy jerseys drunkenly yelling "kick it"

I try my hardest to get my friends here interested in soccer, but they are obstinate, which means I often go alone to the bar, if I watch it at a bar at all.

Nah I live in a small arse college town. The only reason I can watch games at a bar is because I taught some of the bartenders.

Well in BR and NO I have a like 5 other bros that I would watch with. Here I have been too lazy to integrate myself in the local culture. But I swear if I still live here in the fall I'm joining a co-ed league and I'll be fine then.

Mugshots in Hattiesburg shows FSC on one of their TVs, in case you ever want to take a short drive down.

Yeah, their burgers are definitely good. I've only been there a few times. I don't go to bars to watch sports, believe it or not.

Okay... so people actually go to a bar, and sit down by themselves and watch a game alone? All by themselves? I can't imagine doing that. Not saying that it says anything ill about your social skills, but I would just feel awkward personally. It's not like going to a matinee to see a nerdy comicbook-based movie by myself while the wife goes out with her friends. There the lights are dark and going to the movies really isn't much of a communal thing as far as interpersonal communication is concerned. Or going to chicken filet at lunch and catching up on google reader on my iphone while I eat a spicy chicken sandwich with waffle fries.
