I really wanted Raheem to stay at LFC through his prime.. he was so young and extremely talented...

I even thought there was a way back into the fold a couple of months ago, but his camp's actions and behavior in the past couple of months has been horrible and disrespectful... and he had to go...

I mean, BR gave him a shot and made him an important part of the squad at an age where he would have been sent out on loan at any of the other big clubs... Gave the little count a vacation in the middle of the season for christ's sake and this is how he repays the club...

that said, £49mm... to quote bleed..

I'm going to be livid if we buy another attacking mid and not a forward

What are the opinions on our new coaches?

I think time will tell, and tbh I don't know a whole lot about the new guys, but if anything, I'm excited to get some fresh blood and a new perspective. O'driscoll and lijnders seem to like a similar philosophy as BR, but hopefully they won't just be "yes men" like our formers seemed to be. Getting macca back I think was good as well because he commands respect, loves the club, and wants to win.

This seems to be the biggest positive. Ljinders seems like a good "practice field coach" as far as developing players and O'Driscoll doesn't seem to be a bad tactical manager, but to be honest it's really hard to judge until later in the season and seeing results

I want to see a big push for Laccazzette or Reus with this sterling money. Make them say no. If that falls through then buy Benteke. We need offense.

Since we ended up getting the money we wanted for sterling I hope we go all in after lacazette. I mean why not make a serious offer and win that kid rather than getting benteke

O'Driscoll has been described, by almost every single manager who's worked with him, as the exact opposite of a "yes man." He's always spoken his mind and DGAF. Think he's a great hire. Linds is a terrific training ground coach, which is a big reason we had such a large drop off, according to BR.

Overall very happy with both.

This is pretty much everything I've read. Pep has risen through some of the best European academies due to his ability to coach up guys while Driscoll isn't a bad tactical manager in that he got good results at leeds, but he didn't get along with the front office. Honestly, that's kinda what we need right now but will be interesting to see how BR deals with it. Nevertheless though he's a good tactical manager IMO, you only need to see 6-1 last year to see he needs a good reality check

Reports that Jerome Sinclair has declined a new offer and has asked to leave the club. He seems pissed that he was left out of the pre-season tour. Idk if he was left out legitimately or because of these contract talks. Pretty odd either way considering he actually got a few chances with the first team last year

I saw a report that was a little different (but have read what you are saying too)... He didn't like the initial extension and refused to sign, so he was left off of the tour..

Either way, I hope we can keep him...

Wonder what this means for Cameron??

Glenn can play both sides.

The last year or two he was probably better on the left than the right for us IMO.

Geez we've taken City to the cleaners. He'll literally have to become one of the best players in the entire world to justify that kind of money. The odds are more in our favor than City's.

Also saw Sterling is going to make 180k a week. Sweet christ that is ludicrous money for a 20 year old.

Yeah I don't doubt for a second that it was made into something it's not by the media. If it's true he just doesn't like the offer then that's better than straight up asking for a release. He did tweet this out:

Sometimes things just aren't meant to be! Exciting times though! New chapter pending, Can't wait to see where this year takes me

Just read these awesome tweet about the Sterling move....

quote:

Raheem Sterling: Liverpool won 56.9% of the PL matches since Aug 2013 which Sterling started, compared to 61.1% without him #LFC #MCFC

quote:

Pro's of Sterling deal: Liverpool have £40M+ to spend
Con's of Sterling deal: Liverpool have £40M+ to spend

quote:

£49m. 2 ways to look at whether or not it's good business.

Sturridge + Coutinho + Firmino =£49m

Downing + Mignolet + Lovren = £49m

"Just think of how many Southampton players I can sign with £49m!"

Unfortunately I think United got the best one.

We need a straight up forward. I'd have legit optimism if we signed Lacazette. Benteke maybe, buy I don't want to pay 30M for him. If we can land him for 20, I'd be cool with it.

I'd be cool with 25 max, but at this point I'd rather throw everything we got for Sterling at Lacazette just to make him think.

People say he is a pipe dream, but I believe he would at least have to make a decision if a fringe top four team offered a huge sum.

We haven't spent that much outside of £22m or so for Firmino. Clyne was just £12.5m. The others have been cheap. We were going to spend a little bit this window anyway.
