Sreas an article which sadly I can't find to link which discussed the arsenal heat map from the palace game and is was extremely heavily left based in attack. That would make them both dependent upon the left and susceptible to our left counter attacking ....

The article mentione Milner should start on the right to counteract their lean to that side.

I would like to see this lineup - more of a 4-3-2-1. The slashes are for if Hendo is healthy. Speed on our left to counter. Bentenke is takes with doing layoffs to that side exclusively. Milners engine allows him to play good defense with Clyne ozil and Sanchez and put pressure behind them.

------------Migs
Clynne. Skyrtel Lovren. Moreno
Milner-----Can----Hendo/Cou
Lallana/Cou -----Ibe
--------bentenke

I did want to add - Milner has been great thus far and does a lot of things that don't stand or in a stat sheet. His engine and pressing and physicality are all great. I think the midfield dynamic has not been perfect for him but I expect 5-7 goals and 8-10 assists from him.

I've been looking at it more and more, and with Gomez at LB, we're essentially playing 3 at the back, as rare as he gets forward. That's good for our defensive organization, because Lovren isn't having to cover for a LB that bombs forward. If we put Moreno in for Gomez and Moreno gets into the attack, which is his best attribute as a LB, I think Lovren will be exposed...

I would normally agree with you but if you look at the heat maps there was literally zero arsenal players spending time on that side in the offensive third. Zero. Everyone was pulled completely left.

Found article - Milner should start on right

Clyne battling Sanchez and Ozil is going to be fun to watch.

Yea it's the same thing we did last year initially shifting to a 3 man line in attack before we went to it full time where Johnson was RB and staying back on attacks with Sterling in front of him and Moreno pushing up the left. I don't have a huge problem with Gomez and Lovren both starting but they're both a little shaky at times. I just wish Brendan wouldn't be so stubborn in not playing a 3 man midfield against teams who will easily outrun us in midfield and have done when we've played with 2 in midfield

Has anybody else been disappointed with Ibe so far? His touch through the first two matches has been horrible, and hes been too slow for me in his decision making on the ball. I would honestly rather Moreno in his spot, I feel he's more dangerous going forward with better touch. Loved the sub against Bournemouth and he made an immediate difference

Yeah he hasn't looked very good, he doesn't have eyes for a pass most of the time it seems.

I usually find myself thinking "shite Ibe has the ball, here comes dribbling into 3 or 4 defenders and losing possession."

And sadly I'm usually right

Starting him is borderline retarded.

Typical fricking Brendan.

At this point he needs to be coming in late in the game when defenders are gassed when there will be space and he is able to run at them.

He isn't ready for the cagey, disciplined first half hour of most EPL games. His decision making is clearly not ready and neither is his final ball.

But who am I? I certainly don't have a portrait of myself in my home, haven't gotten lipo and a fake set of teeth.

I agree, but where the F is Lazar Markovic. He can't be any worse that Ibe has been. But, we've got 6 points so maybe we should all just calm down...

I'd expect to see Marko once we start cup and Europe matches. I want to see him play further up. Yes he can disappear at times, but he actually has good creativity and willing to run in the box without the ball on teams who pack it in

Wasn't Lazar a freaking Brendan buy anyway?

And PK taker will without a doubt be Milner I think. He took them at Villa....

Sturridge is known to be utter shite at them right? Not cool Hendo our Cou either tbh.

Teke?

Reports that Sakho has been offered a new long term contract. Will take his wages from £75,000 to £100,000 a week.

Either Milner or Teke (who iirc took them at Villa).

Lazar isn't a winger. As disappointing as Ibe has been, I'm not sure Marko is the man to replace him.

Now a rumor that we have had a 15m bid for Mkhitaryan accepted by Dortmund. I'm pretty sure the last thing we need is another attacking midfielder but what do I know?
