I have come to the opinion that Klopp doesn't care about the results this year as he's in it for the long term.
In some ways, thats frustrating because top 4 was there for the taking. But I think Klopp would rather build his sytem and see who sinks or swims, than try to hybrid his way thorugh it just for performance sake, and get a false sense of who is really a good fit for him.
That doesn't mean he's not trying to win, just that he's trying to do it within his system.
Also, an interesting article about where Lallana should play, given his lack of assists/goals up front -
Lallana should play CM
I've love to see it tried at least.

Liverpool have lacked central midfield creativity throughout the season. We’re stale. We’ve missed Steven Gerrard – even the ageing one who led the team last season. Lucas, Emre Can, Jordan Henderson and James Milner have toiled, but their moments of genuine quality have been too irregular. They’re up for the fight, but in many games we shouldn’t just be fighting – we should simply out-football opponents.

not alien to Lallana either. He regularly played in central midfield for Southampton, and has been used in the central three under Roy Hodgson for England too. In fact, during England’s 3-2 win over Slovenia June 2015, he came on at half-time centrally and changed the game.
I've love to see it tried at least.

Anything is worth a shot at this point. I just worry about his mobility and physicality in the midfield. We can all agree he's slow and lacks physicality. He presses his arse off, which would certainly help, but I feel we could get run over against certain teams with him in the center. I think Stewart was brilliant yet again yesterday, and if anyone deserves a shot to try to turn around our MF problems it's him.

Stewart seems to do a good job breaking things up, but he's a liability on the ball and a few times yesterday tried to bring it up, lost it, and left a huge counter-attacking hole behind him.
His passing was better yesterday than the first WestHam game, but still not good enough. I'm not certain he's ready - which doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a shot as he does bring something that we lack to the position.

FSG changes ticket policy
Didn't see it posted here, but FSG has changed the controversial ticket structure

Highlights... From the liverpoolfc.com article with full text of the FSG letter to supporters:
quote:
Removal of game categorisation – regardless of the opposition fans will pay the same price for matchday tickets.
The pricing of tickets will be readjusted to result in zero revenue growth from GA ticketing on a like-for-like basis.
Though individual ticket prices may move marginally from this season, we are freezing our 2016-17 GA ticket revenue at the 2015-16 level exclusive of newly-added seats in the new Main Stand.
The price of our highest general admission ticket will be frozen at the 2015-16 level - £59.
The price of our highest season ticket will be frozen at the 2015-16 level - £869.
The lowest price reducing a further £25 from the 2015-16 level to £685, as well as all other tiers being frozen or reduced.
£9 GA seats will be offered for each and every Premier League match, an allocation of more than 10,000 tickets across the season.

At least they listened, eh?
Major PR points for this I'd think... Eventually I'll take a trip to Anfield for a game

I have absolutely no problem with our manager finding out who he wants long term here. It is unfortunate we hired him during this season and not at the end of last. I understand that this was not really an option but I am just saying that the timing is what it is. Klopp has this year to figure out what he is going to do this summer and going forward and this is the tryout period. Except for one glorious year we have been muddling since Rafa and need to let our world class manager build the type of club he wants at Anfield. I am a patient man since the alternative is more of the same, I also think that we got the exact fit that we need to move this club back into a relative role both on the domestic and international level. Klopp understands how to build without having to have a sheik or a Russian billionaire own the club.

looks like a 4321... Firmino and Coutinho floating behind Studge...
Love this lineup, though I may have opted for Allen over Milner...

Aston Villa is really, really bad at football.

Which is usually a bad omen for Liverpool. I have come to expect draws and losses when we play the bottom table clubs.

What a difference all those guys being fit brings... and you can tell there still a bit out of sync...
You can definitely see the Dortmundesque kind of attacks if we can keep them all fit (cue chRxis to ruin my dream)...
I think we're really missing a playmaker from midfield and obviously defense..
