Allen is captain

He's been great for us lately. I really hope he has a good showing today.

Want.

ETA: In light of recent events, I like seeing Allen with that armband.

Am I the only one who doesn't care much for Stewart?

I really really like Smith and Branagan

ETA: I will say this hasn't been Smith's best game though

Branagan and Texieria are playing well. Ibe keeps looking decidedly average.

Caulker has had a few confusing clearance attempts.

I like Benteke, but I hate watching him play.

Teixeira and Smith have been inconsistent. Stew and Branagan have played ok. Benteke being Benteke. Hope to see Ojo second half

When does Origi come back? I'm done holding my breath for Benteke.

I'm ready to eradicate all things Belgian from our squad... If that means Origi be sacrificed, so be it...

All in all, the kids played okay... Roll on...

I was helping someone move... Should I even try to find the game to watch? Saw the score

I would say no. The match was extremely underwhelming for both sides. Chances squandered, lots of missed calls by the ref, etc. It was like nobody came to do their job right today outside of Branagan and Texieria.

I would only watch it if you want to see the kids play.

I thought we did pretty well outside of converting. Really disappointed that bentenke didn't make one of those opportunities and that Allen muffed his nice chance. Frankly the ideas were solid, final execution not so much.

Impressed with brannagan and Tex. Tex looked like a Cou clone - but without some of that magic. His little dribbling and ability to find holes and receive passed between the midfield and defense was pretty much just like Cou.

Stewart reminds me a little of Danny Williams from the usmnt. He's got the physical tools and can do a job but is missing something technically. I don't think he will end up top of the table quality.

Wish ojo had come on a bit earlier- you could see the problems his pace was causing.

All in all given the mush mash of squad, I thought we did pretty well.

3 games against west ham and no goals for us yet though. Hey - we get one more shot.

Our passing was the biggest let down to me... the intent was good, but so many came up short or just off... I'm sure a lot of that was down to experience and game time together...

Tex

He's at an age and ability that he needs to really be played more (but who sits?)... and not just cup games.. or be sold. More so as a service to him...

He is 23.. he needs to be playing first team football regularly... More power to him if he wants to stay and fight for a place, but that will need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

edit: just read his contract expires this summer... may end up losing him

He's easily my favorite of the youngsters. I like Smith as well, but Tex can be a truly solid player on a consistent basis if given the chance. In my limited experience, I feel that he is easily ready for first team experience regularly.

Rumor is that Liverpool will sign Denis Cherychev tomorrow.

I saw some mentions of this... do you know if it's a loan or are we buying him (if so, the price?)?

He was a target this summer, as well..

Anyway, he gives us something we currently lack in the side... a pacey, direct player who offers width... left footed, too..

edit: I would hope its a loan
