I'd like to see Sterling opposite Lallana with Studge center in a front 3. Cou in behind. But Roger's is insistent on playing Cou on the wing and it drives me out of my mind.

The more interesting question is how the MF will be set up. I think many will be surprised at how often Can is a starter over SG.

So

lallana, sturridge, sterling
Can, coutinho, hendo

As front 6 is kind of what you're thinking?

Yep. Outside of Can. I just said I think people will be surprised at how often he starts. Not that he'll start more than SG, necessarily.

I think first choice front 6 with the players we have right now would be

lallana, sturridge, sterling
coutinho, gerrard, hendo

But I think we have a lot more tactical flexibility this year for different roles, so that could change week to week and depending on form.

Yeah, a lot of flexibility in this squad. But I think you guys got the right of it. Sturridge; Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana; Gerrard, Hendo.

Against Southampton I can see Allen starting, with Coutinho wide.

That would be my first choice if all were healthy today, with possibly flip flopping Lallana and Sterling... I'm sure they will during a match anyway... Maybe Markovic as an impact sub, possibly growing into a bigger role..

I do like the idea of bringing Can in for Coutinho to kill off games late or to start against the more physical sides...

Apparently, after refuting it yesterday... Tony Barrett is saying we did inquire about Falcao only to be told he really wants Real Madrid.. interesting.. at least it tells us they seem to be willing to go after an established star player..

The rumor for today is Liverpool and Arsenal enquiring about Cavani.

Twitter has moved on my friend. We're in for Jovetic apparently. Never gonna happen.

Though I did have Jovetic in my FM 10-12 teams so you never know.

considering the state of City's strike corps health, that might be the most laughable rumor yet

Jovetic has been a favorite of mine for a long time (wish H&G would've given Rafa the £ to sign him back then) ... but yeah, I don't see it happening...

I still can't believe the Remy deal fell through. I hope the real story isn't some bullshite because the "failed medical" excuse is ridiculous. The guy passed medicals all across Europe, he would have been perfect and the price was a crazy bargain.

To be fair, his heart concerns have been around for years... Demba Ba (knee) failed medicals at clubs, only to sign for others... Of course, he's been fine and Remy may very well turn out the same.

I really wanted us to sign him too, but whether it was a medical or something else, you gotta trust the club here...

It's not like they didn't want to sign him, they flew him all the way to Boston for a medical...

It's official on our end... it may have ended on a bit of a sour note, but I got nothing but love for Pepe

I love Pepe, good times for sure. I trust the club about Remy I'm just thinking too much.

So, Tim Vickery has said that he was told we have a big name player lined up to replace Suarez... he didn't know who it was, just that it was not Falcao.. He says he got this info. from an agent...

Tim is pretty dialed into the South American futbol community... he lives in Brazil now

Lot of smoke this week, I'm hoping theres a fire there somewhere... In the end, it'll probably be someone like Icardi...

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark

At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky
And the sweet, silver song of a lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
