Davies to Tottenham?

Mirror so not the most reliable, but hopefully this will be a good kick in the arse to get the Moreno deal done

I was just reading that he is apparently guaranteed to be first choice LB...

I'm with you, hopefully this makes us try harder for Moreno..

Although, there are quite a few young LBs that we can go for.. still baffled why we haven't pursued Ricardo Rodriguez... Alex Sandro (Porto) would be another good choice...

edit: Also read we're trying to hijack Arsenal's move for Manquillo (RB)

I know there's been no official link, but if that rumor that Isco must go for James to come in, I would love to see us get in on that.

Isco would be able to help in a couple of positions, imo, just not sure which one he'd start in primarily.

Plus the bonus is that since he's already coming from a Spanish giant, it is less likely he would be heading back?

I've already seen a link to Isco this morning, for that very reason... On my phone or I'd link it..

AW was saying yesterday that Jenks will compete with Debuchy. very positive quotes about him. sounded like Manquillo wasn't on for us anymore. that said, he could get loaned tomorrow

hope geography doesn't steal another signing from you

Thanks for the link. That would be outstanding. Would love him or Reus and I think he's be a good deal cheaper and maybe still allow us to sign another big name.

Are you suggesting BR was being a little disingenuous with the Sanchez situation?

I'd much rather have Reus...

I almost hate to say this, because he would def add to our squad, but I'd rather us spend elsewhere... I see him as competition for Coutinho and Lallana (who we've tied up a lot of money in).. I know he can play on the wing, but he lacks pace and the defensive work rate to do the things BR asks... Thats just my opinion...

Obviously we'd make it work, but maybe to the detriment of some of the others.. any other opinions?

Depends - if we go to this 4-2-3-1 I think he could be any of the three. Of course there are five other guys who need/want pt there too.

Maybe not the best use of our funds, but of all the guys we bought so far, not a single one is a guaranteed "this guy is better than what we have here" starter. All of them build depth and should play a good bit, but aren't locked into our first XI necessarily.

Sunderland have agreed a fee with Liverpool for Fabio Borini. The deal will be worth up to £14m if Borini can agree personal terms.

edit: more from James Pearce.. LFC wanted Borini to stay for next season, but his willingness to join Sunderland and the size of the bid convinced LFC to sell.

profits on Borini and Assaidi...

I assumed we'd have lost on those..

yeah, I like him... but I think he is guaranteed playing time at Sunderland..

If we sign Remy (wages may be a barrier), I think we get a better player (today) and £6mm.. not too shabby!

I think Lovren, Remy and MAYBE Moreno are good buys...

considering we may have ~ £100 in player sales still untouched (if you believe the journalists close to LFC), there are a lot of possibilities.. I wouldn't rule out a move for a big name target...

I don't think any of us think that we will get a Reus, Pogba or Vidal, but its not out of the realm of possibility...
