I don't see why not, TFTC. We have sat on cash over an entire window during the season, and there is a likelihood in my mind that Sturridge could end up sold.

But I'd love to be wrong... I hope we get the next PEA... go for Inaki Williams (he'll cost too)!!

I just don't see us spending that much on a 27 year old... I mean, Andy Carrol is still our record signing at 1/2 that..

Not that we couldn't afford a one off player of that cost... I just don't see us doing it. MAYBE if it was the last piece in the puzzle

Honestly, I'd rather see is spend the big bucks on a LCB and a LB

That much I can get down with. The more I think about it, we really need depth at striker and LB/CB. I don't think a huge signing would be conducive to filling all those slots.

I agree, I was joking more than anything, but if we could bring him in it'd be a nice splash, especially if Studge is out the door for a reasonable price... But yeah, LCB and LB are definitely priorities over a striker

Have to say, I was overall not unhappy with how we played yesterday. A draw is probably a fair result, but you have to feel like Firmino should have done better.

One thing I didn't like - I still feel like our defense is a police escort towards our goal on counters against us. We let the guy with the ball run way too much and have it lead to a chance.

I thought Clattanburg had a bad game yesterday. Duped by several Chelsea dives, bad penalty call (but when you drag your foot you leave it open for the ref to call it), etc.

There are few people on this planet I hate more than Costa.

Our touch was really bad yesterday - really bad. Lots of lots possession, missed openings, and give aways that were careless. Firmino especially. May need to rest him.

Massive save by Migs on the penalty.

Finally - on a different surface, Hendos final third diagnals would have been killer. One lead to our goal, and if the ball didn't skip so much on that surface, several others would have been dangerous situations.

Overall - have to be disappointed that would couldn't pull back closer to Chelsea. At this point, realistically, we pretty much have to win all but one or two games to have any shot at the title.

ETA - also hopefully with Mane back and Cou healthy we've seen the last of the four man CM lineups.

What the frick has happened to officiating this year?

Clatt blows the whistle when Migs is at his post setting up his wall. I mean, what is this Sunday pub league?

I was overall pleased... it's not easy to score on this Chelsea side, but Bobby should have done better... it happens...

Hendos willingness to play those diagonal balls is growing with confidence... no one expected him to be Xabi back there, but that's the one area he's needs to improve I feel, if he's gonna stay in that role..

It's weird that our best MF 3 are all essentially playing new positions... Lallana has been his most dangerous being the furthest advanced of the 3 making those late runs in the box...

I think Gini has had a very steady season and has done a lot of the things that go unnoticed.. I was a little skeptical of the buy since I was familiar with him as a #10, but I think he's adapted quite well... his finishing can get better, but I'm not worried..

I was watching in a bar with no sound... I still can't grasp the whole situation... I was like WTF when he kicked it... I was sipping my beer and wasn't prepared

It makes zero sense. He's supposed to allow the goal keeper time to organize his wall and return back to the middle of the goal to set himself. Abysmal officiating.

Gini was the guy I was least excited about bringing in, but he's really proven that he can be an integral part of the team. Looking forward to seeing him progress as a player within this system. He seems ideal for it.

I agree with your point, but even if Migs was ready, if he was standing anywhere near the middle he wasn't going to stop that goal. It hit high and off the upright, so unless Migs has 6 foot arms or was standing next to the upright, that kick was going in anyway.

It was just that damn good.

I think that's what aggravates me the most. It was a damn good kick, but how many times have we seen Luiz sail that into the stands or hit it straight at the keeper? Of course he comes up with a world class free kick when we're on our shite form

Maybe it's just me, but I think if Migs was set, that goal was more than saveable...

I would believe he's guarding the near post given where the ball was set...

Yeah usually they cheat closer to the near post but at that distance maybe he would've just sat in the center.

Maybe, but it looked like he had his wall set to cover the far post, so I agree he would have cheated to the near... Still a bogus decision from Clattenburg

3 points is a requirement against Hull. We have to break this bad spell with a compelling win.

And with Mane, etc. back, a big win would really boost confidence.
