Regarding Duke #19, Matt Doyle thinks he goes first overall:
quote:

Jeremy Ebobisse FORWARD - DUKE, USL & US U-20 Ebobisse actually left Duke after the 2015 season, and then spent the second half of this past year playing in the USL for the Charleston Battery while occasionally jetting away with the US U-20s and banging home goals (eight in nine games). He's a true target forward, and has drawn comparisons to Cyle Larin from guys who've played against both players. It feels very much like Ebobisse is a lock to go No. 1. MNUFC aren't talking, but I will be shocked if any other name is called here, or if they move the pick.

Doyle thinks we end up with:
quote:

Miles Robinson
CENTER BACK - SYRACUSE (GA)
Robinson makes a ton of sense for a team that's clearly going to be spending big importing talent its midfield and attack, which means they'll have to be a touch thrifty on the backline. And as it stands in MLS, there is nothing thriftier than a Generation adidas contract. Robinson is big and athletic, and has drawn comparisons to both Walker Zimmerman and Steve Birnbaum (though he's not as dominant in the air as those guys). He's a regular in the US U-20s, competing with the likes of Justen Glad, Erik Palmer-Brown, Tommy Redding and Cameron Carter-Vickers for playing time.

If your club's best years came before the league got its act together, you can't be the only United.

It's like college football programs that brag about national titles before integration. They shouldn't count.

MLS still doesn't have its act together, maybe 20 years from now we can say it does. The amount of ups and downs teams have every year shows a lack of consistent clubs other than LA.

bruv stop, the league had less teams which gave it decent depth and had some super stars in the league. Just bc you didn't know anything about it back then doesn't mean it didn't happen

Champions of CONCACAF which only one other MLS team can claim.

Is the new stadium in ATL going to have that bullshite plastic pitch 3G nonsense or are they going to use real grass and roll it outside like the AZ Cards stadium.

Or it shows the parity common with a salary cap league that has a draft.

Get out of here. You don't know what I know. You are the worst at telling people what they think when you have no clue.

And a hearty at you thinking the quality of MLS was better in the 90s than it is now. One of your most laughable hot takes.

DCU's gotten lapped for most of the last decade in a league you think is worse. Hilarious.

But in other leagues with that we still have teams who dominate for years.

Bro you were like 6 when the league started

I didn't say it was better back then but the league with expansion has killed its depth for the time being. DCU had a couple bad years since it last won it all in 2004, but we still make the playoffs other than those few shitty years.

But there used to be legit superstars even back in the 90's in MLS.

I'm just fricking with them and their circle jerk. The south is long over due for a team. Basically we are their rival along with Orlando.

Can't wait to see how the stands look after the new shine comes off, b/c ATL is known for its fans

I was hoping for real grass, but that is simply not possible between the two teams and the plethora of other events at MBS.

Look forward to seeing you guys at the games.

DS and SCH: please don't frick up this thread with your non-sense.

Getting a young and athletic American center back in Miles Robinson with the 2nd pick would be good business for Atlanta if they don't trade the pick.

Maybe go after a right back with the 8th pick.
