Dude, it's honestly not even worth the fight. Go look at his posts in the Chelsea thread from the last day or two.

So what you’re saying is a bunch of German boys (or any other dual-nationals that grew up outside of America) should travel to the US several times a year rather than train and play in a superior environment in the country they grew up in with players that speak the same language, just to prove to you and other douches like yourself that they are American enough to play for us. You say they should come up through our youth ranks. How old are these kids? Like 10 -15ish? It’s asking a little much.

It’s a business decision for both parties involved. You’re too emotional about this dude. I don’t know what your standards are when it comes to being “American enough,” but this guy seems to have plenty of national pride. Best ever goal for a US player in a World Cup.

He's really trying to live up his Chelsea fan stereotype.

Too bad Chelsea fans are pussies and like men.

If my two boys have a real chance at becoming pro soccer players and a European academy is looking at them. I'm shipping them over as fast as I can. Hopefully when they are that age I'm stationed overseas any way.

Since they have an EU passport they can be in a german set up when ever and anywhere else in Europe at 16.

Not enough quality coaching in America and 20 free MLS academies isn't going to cut it.

Yea that's exactly what I'm saying. If you grow up in Germany, speak German, feel more German, and want to play in "superior" Germany go for it. But don't come crawling back to us when you fail.

You're right I am, because unlike you bend over globalist figs I still have pride in country. Or at least what's left of it.

The only one in the picture right now that I can think of is probably our best CB, when he's healthy. The German-Americans aren't why we failed to qualify.

Funny we never had any trouble before we started hiring foreigners and courting them instead of developing what we already have.

You think maybe we were courting these other players because the ones we had weren't developing? It's not the national team's job to develop players.

The biggest issue was that we had a generation that didn't pan out for whatever reason. We had a good aging generation (Donovan/Dempsey's group), and we have a potentially our best young generation right now, but we had very little depth of players in their prime in this cycle. The warning signs were there when we missed multiple Olympics and youth world cups.

Didn't help that we were decimated by injuries in this cycle.

But if they have an American parent, they are US citizens. Every country in the world does this. Spain of all places had Brazilian born players, like Costa and Senna. Italy does this. Germany does this. It makes no sense that we wouldn't access our available player pool when even the best countries in the world do. Brazil is the notable exception, but that country produces a number of professional players at a rate much higher than elsewhere. Nationality is a fluid thing, especially in the world we live in currently.

It might not have worked out for us this time, but it did in 1990, when we had 2 foreign born players, and in 1994, when we had 7 foreign born players, or in 1998, when we had 6, or in 2002 when we had 4. The 2006 team didn't have any foreign born players that I recall, and I think the 2010 team only had Benny. There's clearly been a precedent of using foreign born players in the US system. In fact, it's been the one thing that's been consistent.

For me, I don't mind the foreign born players because if they choose to represent the US, then they deserve my support. Integrating people into the culture is where Americans excel noticeably over European countries. That can be a source of pride too.

Bob Gansler (1990 WC manager) was born in Hungary. Bora Milutinovic (1994 WC manager) was Yugoslavian. Bill Jeffrey (1950 WC manager) was Scottish.

Well looking at the numbers, 3 of our 4 goal scorers in 2014 WC were dual Nationals. So I would say we wouldn't have gotten out of the "group of death" without them.
