re: Need Advice - Opportunity to Attend EPL Match Next Year

Any of these games may be moved Sunday or Monday for TV and since you are flying home the next day you'll want to wait until you commit to one. I think they only set the TV schedule 6 weeks or so before.
It would be much less likely in the Championship, so you always the QPR or other matches as back-up.

Liverpool play United. Its a massive weekend for for the EPL.
no shot getting them, those games are lotteries after the season ticket holders claim theirs

Good points. I guess with so much time between now and March '14, it comes down to timing as to "when" to pull the trigger on an Aston membership, tickets, etc. I'm certainly not going to take the approach of "Chelsea match or bust", so I'll try to be extremely flexible.

Can't say I'm surprised. But this is exactly the type of info that I need to help make heads or tails of this situation.

Google/Youtube the Millwall Bushwackers. They're one of the most notorious hooligan firms in Europe. They were fighting amongst themselves during the FA Cup Semifinal against Wigan last year. Also, Charlton is one of Millwall's biggest rivals and there's been dust-ups the last few times they've played.
With the game being played in the Den (Millwall's ground) and having your daughter with you, I would skip it.

Pretty sure you'll be safe with the AV game not being moved for being a big fixture that late in the season

Not necessarily true. Chelsea will probably have another fixture.

Lots of factors to account for in this decision. Will be nice when we finally settle on a match.

You can always go see the mighty Man City play the Tigers of Hull City!

Assuming this is on March 15th and the Chelsea match falls through, I'll keep this in mind. Thx!

I went to England last August and arrived on a Saturday and left the next Saturday. I didn't think I'd be able to go to a Chelsea game and was kind of bummed out about it. A few weeks before we left they moved the Chelsea-Reading game to a Wednesday night and it worked out perfectly. So definitely take changes in the schedule into consideration.

Just curious, how difficult was it to get tickets? Was the game played at Stamford Bridge or at Reading?

It was at Stamford Bridge. I have a friend over there. A guy he worked with knew a guy that sold the passes of season ticket holders that couldn't attend certain games, so it wasn't too hard. I looked at joining the membership club to get tickets. A bunch of tickets were on viagogo.com. I believe it's the website members can use to sell their tickets if they can't attend. You have to be a club member to buy from there though. It may be worth looking into.

yea most clubs do not have physical tickets but instead the ticket is loaded to your membership card and you scan in that way, thats a big reason there is no real secondary market b/c people don't like handing over their cards. shite at FCK games here the club gets real bitchy about losing your season ticket card.
