Isn’t Marbella the big Euro resort town Or at least one of them?

Same here. Prolly a money making deal, like they all are. I told them they’d have to wait til at least after we wreck shite at FC Dallas this weekend.

Place is hot as balls, African hot, and infested with Russian mafia, Arab magnates, and nouveau riche.

And tons of drunken Brits pretending they have money

Even so his kid can’t even play for them until he’s 18.

I thought this thread was going to be about Heung-Min Son.

Did they watch your son at the FC Dallas tournament this weekend? They watched this weekend and sent the official invite today. Still trying to learn more about it.

Here is some info I found about it on bigsoccer LINK

quote:

I've known a few players who've gone through it for brief to longer periods of time. One of the benefits is that since it's partnered with a college here in the States, players can take out federal student loans to cover their cost of attendance, since they're technically in school while playing soccer there.

The cost is pretty steep, I think I heard somewhere a little south of $20,000 per year (which I suppose actually isn't too bad since it covers room and board in addition to being able to play at an okay level year-round and get decent exposure). But your credits are transferrable back to the U.S. once you decide to come home, so if the pro game doesn't work out, at least you can continue moving forward with your degree.

As with anything like this, the goal is to hopefully bring in a stud that a bigger team will want, and bake in a sell-on fee into transfer paperwork.

There were college coaches watching and a few MLS guys watching when we played FC Dallas Premier(they had 5 or 6 Academy kids playing, so obviously they were there to scout them). We tied 1-1 with a couple chances to win. I was happy.

Thanks for the link. From other reading, it appears this is the third year of the program.
