I think another candidate from that team will be Zusi.
Zusi has a goal for the national team already. The lone goal in a friendly @ panama. He's certainly on the radar. He was in Klinnsmann's 23 for the summer friendlies and qualifying. But like you said, that whole team is playing like garbage, and we have enough depth that we can call up in form players, at least in the midfield.

I hardly count that January Camp as a Senior call up, but I see your point

Well obviously camp cupcake is an opportunity for the staff to look at fringe players. It counts as a cap, though it isn't for the A-team. The callup to the camp in June was a good indicator of how close Zusi is. He's going to have to lift SKC back up if he wants another one, though.

Of the 26 players called up in the January 2007 camp, 13 participated in WC qualifying.

Sheep, your post is why I love the soccer board.
This brings up an interesting discussion. Who from the January camp will play a significant part in WCQ and Brazil. My picks are in Bold
GOALKEEPERS (3): Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
DEFENDERS (7): Geoff Cameron (Houston Dynamo), A.J. DeLaGarza (LA Galaxy), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), George John (FC Dallas), Zach Loyd (FC Dallas), Michael Parkhurst (FC Nordsjaelland), Heath Pearce (Chivas USA)
MIDFIELDERS (6): Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Ricardo Clark (Eintracht Frankfurt), Benny Feilhaber (New England Revolution), Jeff Larentowicz (Colorado Rapids), Brek Shea (FC Dallas), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
FORWARDS (4): Juan Agudelo (New York Red Bulls), Teal Bunbury (Sporting Kansas City), C.J. Sapong (Sporting Kansas City), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes)
Cameron already has played 45 minutes in a qualifier FYI

Omar tore his knee up. I hope it doesn't hurt his career. IMO, he would have been getting more call ups than Cameron. Up to this point.
If im not mistaking, Jurgen was using his connections to get Omar into Germany. Then the traitor wrecked shop on him.
Once he is 100% and IF he is still pre-injury form and continues to grow, It'd be interesting to see this back line.
Lichaj - Cameron - Gonzalez - Johnson.

I would argue that Onyewu was in a much better shape when he tore his patellar tendon in 09 ? Granted Onyewu was older.
We shall find out soon !

Omar played on Wednesday night against Philly.

I don't think we'll take an "old" third GK. It'll be a younger guy, for the exposure, I would imagine.
There is ZERO chance that Parkhurst makes the squad.
I think Beckerman will be this cycle's Mastroeni. He'll play in a lot of the qualifiers, but won't make the final squad.

Has anyone mentioned Osvaldo Alonso yet? I know there is a lot of midfield depth but he is very good at winning tackles, usually at the top of the league.
Last I read, there is still a question of eligibility.

Zakuani !
Steve could definitely help us if he decides to play for us. There's no doubt in my mind that he'd make our world cup roster if he recovers from his injuries better than Charlie Davies did.

Let's not get carried away.
He's pacy, which is something we sorely lack.
But, if you list our top 10 midfielders, you'd have a hard time convincing me that Zakuani brings more to a game than any of them.... other than pace.

jack's from GA. played for stars and cobb fc for a while before heading to residency. that cobb fc team was pure filth for a while there.

I set him straight earlier in the thread. McInerney was born in Tennessee.
Got two assists today in a win against toronto. That's 3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games played this year. Nowak is a goddamn fool.
