In all honestly why is it so hard for you to accept the clear superiority of the EPL?
Da frick?
The PL is "exciting," but the quality of play is nowhere near that of La Liga or the Bundesliga.

Exactly. I´ve never said the prem isn´t exciting, or fun to watch. Never.

Athletic scudded Osasuna 5-1. Ibai Gomez is quickly becoming a very good option.

They made the perfect call replacing Bielsa with Valverde.

Caparrós bested Sevilla today with Levante, in Sevilla. Major drama.

I guess the English sides just continuously luck into all that European success.

You can be a side built to win in Europe without playing attractive football. Chelsea 2011 is proof of that.
Man City, Arsenal, and 'Pool are playing attractive football, but the rest of the league isn't. In terms of play, this might be one of the worst seasons in the PL.
I was more entertain by the level of passing in the Verona-Napoli game and the Juventus-Lazio game this weekend than I have been by any PL game where I don't have a rooting interest.

Well to me "quality" is the ability to get results not level of passing.

Anyway, what is all this success he´s talking about? Chelsea´s ´mon´back, mon´back, beep, beep, beep´, or Liverpool´s miracle against AC Milan, which was probably ten years earlier?
Did Rafa take fricking Chelsea to the UEFA title last year? I´m not sure, but think so.
Really. Really.
Check out La Liga´s hitlist, Randy. It´s MUCH longer, more consistent, and comprised of merit, not luck.
ETA yeah, I just realized I left a door open to your bufoonery, but I won´t respond.

Sure, but you say that as someone who is invested in a team. Getting a result against a big opponent is exciting. But for a neutral, I'd rather watch high quality attacking play. It's not like the matchups in Italy lacked defense. They just had a number of chances, good passing, tackling, counter attacking, etc. they had technically proficient players playing at an entertaining tempo.
Outside of Chelsea's success in 2011, the best attacking team in Europe usually wins, especially since the change in the offside rule in 2003.

It's why Ancelotti had so much success in Europe but very little in Italy, as attacking teams are usually awarded.
The best Chelsea team in terms of attacking was moulded by Ancelotti, but he had the unfortunate timing of meeting a superb Inter headed by Mourinho and the revitalized Sneijder. If Ancelotti was at the helm of this Chelsea team, they'd be on top of the table in scoring.

Mind you, that level of passing side has won five big ears, yet my club, which I love dearly since I was born, spends like the big boys (or more), recently hideously backed into one, and is still despised by all major storied clubs and their fans, screams ´quality´.

What decade do you think this is?
Do you really want to go over what the EPL has done vs. La Liga over the last decade + in the Champions League?
It won't end well for you.

More than can be said for Real Madrid. Curious how beating the "best team ever" over two legs and Bayern in Munich is "backing into" anything but I guess I should consider who I'm dealing with.

Boohoo other teams fans don't like us? How will I sleep tonighit?
Totally relevant point to the discussion by the way, kudos.

What was the change in the rule? And how did it make things more attacking?
