I’m not sure why you’re even bothering debating this with him. He’s clearly woefully naive in regard to pretty much every aspect of this situation and football culture in general.
You might as well be arguing this with a kitchen chair.

Yeah I edited to put that in quotation marks because I don't think this qualifies as a riot. On another note, one of the last riots in English football was during the Millwall v Wigan FA Cup semifinal, when Millwall fans fought amongst themselves.

Do you think it's a one-to-one relationship between advertising a 'brand' and people supporting that 'brand,' especially when that advertising took place when absolutely no fans were in the stadium?
Do you think this is the first "riot" in English football?
Dude you couldn't watch a match without BLM signage in your face all season. Fans not being there has nothing to do with it.
It doesn't matter how long riots have been happening in english football.
Promoting groups that riot has an influence on current behavior. Just like promoting any other product has an influence.
Point being these clubs need to be more careful with who they hitch their wagging to.

You clearly don't know what a riot is
this wasn't a mob hell bent on destruction
our fans are not gonna smash up our own stadium

Yes it’s not as extreme as others have been, I just didn’t see this as “peaceful”

There wasn't a riot
stop being a soft as bitch
BLM has nothing to do with 15+ years of angry from United fans with owners who have stolen a Billion pounds from the club.
Your ignorance to the situation is actually embarrassing.
