Whooptie do, they dominated possession and created 5 chances against Newcastle. They still are clueless about putting anything away this season and don't have any real rhyme or reason to what they are doing.
I stand by my statement and I'd bet the vast majority not blindly loyal to the glory would agree. They're the worst team in the top 4 in recent memory.
Who on their current squad besides De Gea, maybe Rooney and possibly Di Maria would start in the other top 4/5 sides? They've got a lot of rebuilding to do and bought a bunch of crap this past summer.

Rooney would start on EVERY team in the world. ALL of them. Literally. Not exaggerating.
If we're so garbage and in the top 4, what does that say for everyone beneath us?

United have lost twice in the last 22 matches. While it hasn't been impressive soccer. Its still getting results. Now imagine if this team finally flips the switch. United seem to be stuck in neutral all season and are top 4 right now. Not saying we are guaranteed to make it but the chances are high.
People then say look at their remaining games. Well this same team playing not so attractive soccer. Tied Chelsea 1-1, beat Arsenal 2-1, beat Liverpool 3-0, beat Everton 2-1, and tied Spurs 0-0, lost to City 1-0 with 10 men.

based on watching the games. I tend to think things balance themselves out a bit over the course of a season, and Man U has been on the right side of a lot of tight matches. Credit to them for grinding it out, but with the way they play I can see them losing some close ones down the stretch.

High flying impressive soccer isn't always the best soccer and is cost Liverpool last year.
United's major concern was defense coming in and now look at how many goals the have given up this year. In part to DDG and a much improved defense over the year with not such great talent

There's 3 teams within 6 points. It's not like you're locked in or something.
And I stand by my statements. Other than glory fans, I don't think many would disagree at this point. It's stellar that they have been able to stay where they are, but at least admit they are playing shite football and have a long way to go to challenge for the top again.
Luis van Moyes better figure out how to play football soon or most Manc fans won't put up with it much longer. They're already chanting at OT games about the Hodgson football they have to watch. You can always pick up the manager across the city after this season..

Fair Statement. But ManU fans won't put up with grinding out results forever and grinding out results into 4th place.
It's one thing to play like Chelsea and win titles galore, its another thing to be the Stoke City of the top 4 with a history and budget like United.

You very well could be right. I've watched a lot of United this year, and their place in the table does not match with what I have watched of them (other than DDG 
). Having said that, as Parcells once said, you are what your record says you are. It will be interesting to see if they can continue to grind it out over the rest of the season and pull out late wins when needed like yesterday.

we are not Liverpool printing shirts for 2nd place
LvG is getting the job done, next year we will really see if the fruits of his labor work.
Once the back is secure, we will most likely go to a 4-3-3 and with our midfield and attack talent that is scary.

I absolutely agree with this, and am far from a Man U fan. But looking at it from a rational standpoint, from where they were last year you do whatever is necessary to climb back into a champions league spot while rebuilding. Not to say I agree with what LvG has done or that I think he is on track to bring them all the way back, but that would be my thought process if I were a fan and I imagine is the case for many of them...

Are the continuous jabs necessary? Trying to have a discussion without pissing all over the thread.

When exactly will that be? Sure you guys aren't letting goals in this year, or at least not lately but can you really call your backline secure?
You've still got A LOT of signing to make before I'd call that a viable defense.
Where are the goals going to come from? Falcao? Van Persie? Are either of them going to be around next year? Rooney is on tDecline, Mata isn't even playing, Young is the most inconsistent players on the planet. Fergie and Moyes left a pretty huge mess and if you don't make the top 4 next year, it will be an even larger climb back. Tons of money and FFP implications.
Sorry man, I still just see a massive rebuild for ya'll. The foundation is far from set from where I stand. Just an opinion but I've read a lot of articles that agree..

Not really Shaw was getting better and McNair and Blackett are quality academy players. So maybe one or two brought in during the summer.

Rooney on the decline good god man. Falcao and RVP will probably both be gone. Bring in another strike and play this guy you may have heard of him James Wilson another top top academy product.
Young inconsistent. Thats how I know you have no been watching at all. Young has been a stand out under LvG this year.
