The team has massive structural problems. They've had those problems since SAF's last couple of years. SAF could hide it by simplifying the game in midfield and focusing on the wings. I don't know how you fix it other than by selling anyone who remotely doesn't fit your scheme.

SAF pulled off genius his last few years. The lack of investment by the glazers at that time could only be covered up SAF
Posted on 10/23/16 at 11:46 am to StraightCashHomey21
And the investment since then has been utterly retarded.

going for a pt at anfield a masterclass still?

Yup not having a director of football to establish a structure has killed us.

Yeah Felliani is such a waste of a player. He has the body of a DM but no ability to play as one. He's only good as a second striker-ish role, but why would anyone except the most regressive of teams use him there (looking at you Moyes).
Finding players like Carrick and Schweinsteiger is hard. Yet Man U has Schneiderlein too who fits that mold really well. It's crazy to me that the answer to their structural problems resides in the team, with 3 options.

He was an attacking midfielder when he came through right? At least at his size he isn't a pussy like Felliani. He's a pretty great ball-playing DM.
