That’s a fair point, Dirtytigers.
I’m thinking organizationally, but it certainly will be an immediate help on the pitch. And it ain’t my money, neither!

If casemiro comes, it’s because his salary is being doubled. It’s a step down competitively. Maybe 2. If he’s committed, great; but he’s clearly trying to stack cash and that’s not a great thing for a club trying to rebuild imo
ETA: fabrizio tweeted its a huge salary but not double. Point still stands though. He’s won tons of trophies. If he comes, hopefully he’s motivated especially after he sees how arse United is.

How do you think he has more….
Attacker
CR7
Rashford
Sancho
Martial
Midfield
Bruno
DVB
Erickson
McTominay
Fred
Where is the depth?
Also I agree it’s a terrible start and everyone is to blame. But I think it’s way more on the players and the recruitment team way before ETH GETS HIS BLAME.

He has inherited a team that is most comfortable with and effective at absorbing pressure and playing counterattacking football. There is proven quality in the 2-deep at every position with the exception of midfield and striker now that Martial is hurt again.
63% and 67% possession in the first two matches with no end product other than costly mistakes in their own half.
If ETH doesn’t get his bald head on straight and start easing the system transition as new players arrive he’ll be done before he really even gets started. It might take another window or even 2 at this rate.

Made an £80 million bid for Antony today as well, looks like the Board finally realized they needed to either shite or get off the pot
Posted on 8/18/22 at 6:06 pm to dirtytigers
It was £67 million
And was rejected
Ajax wants around £80-£90 million

Antony is going to be pissed Ajax will never get close to that amount of money again for him, wonder why Ajax isn't taking that deal?

I agree I’d take it in their position…but they did get gutted this transfer window.
My thinking is how much difference can Anthony make, take the highest bid even endure a shite run until Jan then reload as much as you can. They would have 130M from United alone.

Maguire swap for Pulisic? Please let this happen.

Lol just read about links to Achraf Hakimi as well. I guess the Glazers said, "get to spending to take the pressure off of us!" shite if they want to spend money, bring in Casemiro, Antony, Tielemans, Meslier, and Hakimi. Then we'll still want the Glazers out, but United need to retool anyway.
The mirror also just put out a story saying "United will finish the window guns blazing." According to them Ten Hag has said he didn't realize how big of a problem the team was in when he decided to accept the move from Ajax and United are trying to buy their way out of the position they're in. Apparently, the Glazers have allowed them to "loosen the purse strings."
The mirror says the Casemiro deal was not a replacement for De Jong, they will still allow that transfer to go through if he decides to come to United and that De Jong's agents expect Barcelona to blink first as they need the money from that transfer if they are going to bring in any one else. They've already been unable to register Jules Kounde. The mirror also said that United want to bring in two forwards to relieve the pressure caused by Ronaldo. They want to bring in both Antony, and Cody Gakpo.
Take all of this for what it's worth. This is the fricking Mirror after all. But this whole situation pisses me off. It shows that the Glazers have been holding the club's spending back.

The get to spending is just green lighting the club spending money it already makes
Not them actually injecting their own money into United

Trust me, I'm aware of that. United needs to spend anyway and it should've been approved to start the window. I know the Glazers aren't funneling their own money into the transfer budget. I do however think they have the ability to restrict the transfer budget and that's what theyve been doing for years. Now there's pressure to sell with a name that people are getting behind (Ratcliffe) and the team looked like absolute shite in the first two weeks.
Let's not forget that they were trying to bring in Arnautovic and Rabiot a week and a half ago. So the pressure has gotten to them.

You know the glazers are at threat level midnight if they “loosen the purse strings” trying to convince everyone that they care about the strength of the squad.
