This is a bit of hyperbole. The sponsorships aren't fake companies if you do 30 minutes of searching. I assume you're talking about the Wega one. it was 4M and other EPL clubs had similar deals. Yes, it was a PO box with no employees at the English office but it was run by a Swiss resident living in UAE at the time. It wasn't a big deal.

The other sponsorships...sure? Again, this gets in the weeds with "fair market value". A company sees an opportunity with a club that seems to be doing well and heading towards success and they invest. I'm not going to defend it but if City sucks going forward then these things are never even brought up.

Sky-blue tinted glasses off IDK if I even do that. Players and agents only know the info they're given and seeing how things have gone up to this point they likely didn't know this was going on. Aguero signed at 23 and is by most accounts, pretty dumb. He got an offer and took it. He won a title. Realistically what are you accomplishing by stripping his accolades?

Correct. United has a -1.3B net spend the last decade. They've been shite. Arsenal is over a billion. Liverpool and Chelsea are close to a billion though over half of Liverpool's is the last 2 seasons. City is at 175M.

Argue accounting and "well they couldn't have signed all these players without cheating" all you want but you can't deny City hasn't been run incredibly well since Pep signed on. The last decade of success hasn't been built on money, it was built on a phenomenal front office. If it was purely money then United and Chelsea would have way more titles. If you want to argue Liverpool then I'm a hard maybe. Even then I think it was far enough removed to where they don't have an argument.




That being said, the rules are the rules and if we broke them then do whatever, but punish the guys that did it. Soriano and Khaldoon. I understand wanting to see City burned to the rubble but it isn't rational. Haaland wasn't asking his cousin to sponsor the club. The players weren't involved. The fans weren't involved. The people that have been working at the club for decades weren't involved. At the end of this the PL and City are gonna have to come to a resolution that both sides don't like but accept.
