Wright Thompson is sooooo good.
Except on TV. I hate him on TV. But his writing is incredible.

An interesting read but am I the only one who thinks Thompson is oversimplifying things a bit? He physically assaulted a ref because his girlfriend moved? He bit an opposing player out of a sense of fear?

I think he's just finding an angle to explain what makes him tick, because by any rational method you can't really, it's crazy to bite someone during a match

He definitely made me want to pull for Bosnia-Herzogavina with his 2 articles.
Thanks for linking so I can go check it out.

I teared up at the part where he got the girl.

Cute. But frick him. Many players grew up poor. He was ugly and got picked on so he's a whiny bitch.

That was a very good article. The story about his wife is pretty awesome.

I don't feel sorry for him, dude is a maniac. Still an interesting article

It just shows that there are two sides to every story. Obviously Suarez is at least a little bit nuts, and he does some dirty things on the field, but all of his teammates and friends seem to love him, by all accounts he's a good father and husband, he's never in any actual legal trouble be it drugs or DWI's or anything.
Personally I find it more funny than anger inducing. It's not like anyone is really getting hurt. Roy Keane deliberately breaking someone's leg or cantona kicking a spectator is way worse than biting someone IMO

Even moreso after this last incident. How could you not feel sorry for him?

Very interesting article. But I would bet there are lots of soccer players who came from similar backgrounds, and can share those fears, but don't resort to that level of violence. There's something in his psyche that ain't right.

Yeah, I'm not buying the poverty thing. Ronaldo grew up poor. He isn't biting people.

i listened to a great interview with forlan not long ago. his description of how suarez reacted when he saw red for the handball and what it meant in uruguay made me sympathize with him for a moment.
then yesterday happened.

That's because Ronaldo isn't completely out of his mind.
